Good Beginners Wavemaker By Chris on 7/22/2014

I have some loud clicking when the larger hydor pumps initiate. Not an issue with the wavemaker (this product) itself, but the inexpensive pump. This product does what it says it'll do. I've been using it for about 10 months now with no issues. I have it runner a couple of hydor pumps in my 70 gallon basement sump where the loud clicking isn't an issue for me.

How do I rate a product that works but not with products from the same company. The controller does it's job, but the koralia nano powerheads start in reverse 80% of the time. Why release a product that doesn't work with what you sell.....

Profuct works as advertised. I wish it had a RANDOM setting that would not make it so rhythmic. The product seems well built and does what its supposed to

I had it & it worked fine for about two months and now one side runs constant so much for random flow. Save your money & get a better controller, you get what you pay for, & I didn't get much LOL.
Awesome, Affordable, Easy By Cory on 4/5/2013

I love this thing, it was affordable, easy to setup and use, and it just plain works. Yes there are better wavemakers out there, and they cost three times as much or more. I needed to change the flow in my tank once or twice a day and this little beauty does the trick. I have mine set to 6 hours in a attempt to better emulate a natural tide change. I already owned the Koralia powerheads which was helpful since they are designed to be turned off and on randomly. But make sure that you do have powerheads designed to support this feature. The feeding feature is also awesome, it is much better than my old method of shutting off the powerstrip.
Affordable Random Flow By Terrance on 12/26/2012

This unit is great for random flow, especially when I already have koralia evolution pumps and did not want to go out to buy a vortech. Honestly, I do not want all the bells and whistles from the vortech. I only needed a simple unit for random flow. The smartwave was designed for the evolution pumps, so I am not sure if it works with other brands or older models.
Warning: this unit does produce a clicking noise from the pumps turning on and off. I increase the intervals when nobody is around. When I am at home, I decrease the intervals to make the clicking noise less noticeable and annoying. Keep in mind that even the vortech is not silent and everyone will have different noise tolerance.
