Great pump and had it super fast I ordered the BRS. Gfo reactor deluxe and thought I ordered the one with the pump but accidently didn't so they gave me the pump for the price that would of veer if came with package

I kept getting shockin my my tank and couldnt figure out why. Well yesterday my coral was mad and retracted and I woke up this morning to all my coral still mad and all my inverts dead. I did a water change even though my water parameters were fine.

I had this pump set up with a BRS single reactor I went to change the media today and was going to unplug this pump the power cord had melted where it goes into the pump and was emitting electricity into my tank and not only killed alot of my inverts but was shocking me as well. I would NOT recomend this pump to anyone!

Recently I ordered the Carbon and GFO cannisters from BRS and trying to save some money, I went with another pump. Lets just say that pump didn't perform and is not in the trash can.

I set the Cobalt pump up and I have had zero problems with it. I wish I had ordered this pump the first time around.

I purchased the reactor/pump combo exclusively to regenerate GFO

The impellers apparently do not hold up to the lye-water required to regenerate GFO. I've gotten less then 72 hours of operation out of each of the 2 impellers I've used. (a 10 year old MJ1200 holds up just fine)

I gave it 3 stars because Cobalt was very good about the original replacement part. I'm hoping they are going to replace my second impeller with the same top notch service that they did the first.

Still running strong over the last 7 months. I have the nozzle set to push water out prior to entering the reactor line and this has added nice water movement. Good pump.

I had to order this separate from my BRS dual reactor because it was out of stock. It works great though.

Only problem i have had is if a piece of algae gets caught in the intake it significantly reduces the flow, as any pump would..

Also make sure the suction cups are securely fastened or the vibration can get kind of noisy.

I bought this pump to replace a loud marineland pump that was being used in my reactor. it was a direct replacement (MJ1200 for an MJ1200) and the difference was night and day. I use this pump to pump water from the back of my biocube, into the stand and back up. it's dead silent even with the 4ft of head height and you can even regulate the output without chattering like the Marineland. I'm placing an order for another one now to replace my marineland return pump.

I bought two to these for my BRS reactors. They became less noisy after about a week of use. It is a solid pump and easy to clean.

Well I've been using the marineland MJ1200 for a few years now (the older Italian made one, not the Chinese made one) and these seem rather comparable. They do what they are ment to do reliably.

However, my pump was missing the venturi piece, luckily I had no intent of using it, but had I wanted to connect the flair to the end of the pump, I would have been out of luck.

Same thing as MJ1200 but made to higher standards. Is much quiter but no Hi flow fan upgrade kit included.

I've recently purchased and used both the Cobalt and another brand MJ1200. The Cobalt runs more quietly and includes most of the same accessories as the other version, however this Cobalt included only and impeller and not the propeller accessories so keep that in mind. Overall I prefer this pump to the cheaper version.
