Great Quality By Brandon on 4/5/12

This product is very high quality. installed in less than a half hour. MJ1200 is a little much if you have a smaller tank. I have mine running at about 15-20%.

Really well built unit. The air purge valve is a nice added feature. Now that I have one, I'm going to order a few more.
Nice solid feel.

Kimberly would recommend this product to a friend
It arrived today, the installation was quick and easy and I had it up and running in about 10 minutes. The quick connects were a breeze. The instructions were easy to follow (for those of you who actually read them.) Very impressed. Nice quiet powerful little pump.(cobalt MJ 1200) Does a little happy dance.

Quality reactors By Danny on 3/19/12

I purchased 2 of these units. 1 for ROX 0.8 and 1 for HC GFO. I am very pleased with the products overall. It took me twice of filling the units to not get a air gap between the sponges. I learned my lesson. They have been up and running now for about 12 hours.
I wish I would have known that the red pressure relief was a push type not a screw type, lol. That was totally my fault. Lost a lil water in the process but I had to do a water change anyways, lol. But hey I learned that it is easy to put back together.
The only issue I ran into was with the murlock inline valves. I am used to using the watts premier type push fittings from lowes but I must say I wish they sold these there. I am very happy with the quality. Anyway on to the problem I ran into. While I was pushing the tubing into the valve the line was not perfectly round from being cut. This is an issue cause it caught on the orings inside the valve. There are 2 in the Murlock valves (unlike watts from lowes/home depot) which is a nice feature. Anyways, I had leaks on both valves. At first I thought it was that the tube wasn't cut straight enough. After recutting the tubes I almost put it back together without looking in the valves, and I'm glad I looked... One of the orings was halfway through the valve on both valves. It was real easy to pop them back into place, so if you get any Murlock push fittings that leak be sure to check out the inside where the orings are. Make sure that they are in correctly.
Thanks again for a great product

Exactly what I needed By Warren on 3/17/12

I made a Hang On Back rack for mine until I upgrade my tank, let me say, that this is a great unit. Ordered with the Mj1200 pump, everything I needed to make it work was included. Came with 2 90 degree elbows, I ordered 2 more, so I have 4 elbows installed and the ball valve is still not even close to full open, which means the pump is a great choice for this reactor.
I can swivel the elbows while the pump is running and no leaks. The reactor itself is very nicely built, compact, and easy to see whats going on inside.
Every other brand reactor under $100 I would not dare to try hanging on the back of my tank, seen to many leaks, but I have no concerns with this BRS design, thanks alot!

Super Good Reactors By rsautofab on 2/27/12
rsautofab would recommend this product to a friend
I ordered two of these deluxe reactors. Not only because of it's black heavyduty color and structure. I got them insted of the dual BRS reactor beacuse i can control the flow on the GFO and CARBON seperately, which makes my tuning a lot easier. I just installed mine and it is great . My water became more clear and my phosphate levels droped. Would reccomend this product to every reefer.

I bought this reactor, and set it up for a test run. i was holding it when I turned on the pump and whoosh water all over me! hahah I double checked to make sure i hooked everything up correctly, and I had. I then call BRS customer service, and told them my problem. the phone conversation lasted all of 10 minutes and my new reactor was on its way! I received the new reactor the next day and it runs like a champ!

Its a little hard to get the sponges just right at first but after you do it a few times gets easier. Wish there was more info on flow for carbon and gfo. Just trying to figure it out.

Great reactor By Ian on 12/26/11
Ian would recommend this product to a friend
Solidly built, does it's job day in and day out. Simple to maintain. I used this until I went with the BRS dual reactor. I would have preferred two of these but didn't have room, which is hardly it's fault :-)

Makes a Great Gift for the Reefer in your family By Art T on 12/16/11

I suggest you watch the training videos here on BRS since they do a fine job explaining the correct method to use the reactor. I bought this and the GFO to use in my 55g tank to help with my green hair algea problem. I have now used this item for more than a month and it is well built, easy to install and has a solid bracket to hang it almost anywhere you need.
I plan on getting another so I can use the Rox Carbon as well

This reactor is made very heavy duty and easy to use for any one also setup is simple. The nice thing is that your water will be crystal clear.

Fantastic reactor, worth every penny and more By robbyvonawesome on 11/24/11

This reactor is the best there is, hands down. I've run media reactors from several different manufacturers and I can easily say this is my favorite. I bought one to replace a Phosban reactor that I cracked, and then I liked the BRS reactor so much I ordered a second one to replace my existing carbon reactor. One thing to keep in mind is that this will not hang on the side of a sump like a phosban reactor will (at least not without a little DIY). For me, attaching it to the inside my stand worked out great. Another thing is that, in my opinion, the MJ1200 that is recommended is a little overkill. I had to dial back the flow quite a bit on my GFO to prevent too much tumbling action (ball valve is included). I paired my 2nd reactor with a MJ900 and still had more than enough flow. Overall, this is a VERY durable unit. When you pick it up, you can feel the heft, it's far more robust than most media reactors. Bulk Reef Supply always comes through with quality equipment, and this is no exception.

love the reactor By Robert on 11/23/11

I love the ease of use of this reactor. It is hanging on the wall behind my tank and doubles to remove water during water changes. I hated the maxi Jet pump that comes with it- too loud- great reactor though!!

OK By Bobby on 11/22/11

It does work however after using a reactor that cost 4 times as much I realized you get what you pay for. I used it with the maxijet 1200 but the pump just didn't cut it. If you can afford a regular reactor go for it. If your going to get this one I would strongly recommend using a danner pump.

Saved my Reef Tank By Guy on 11/21/11

I was fit to be tied, slime/snot algae-bacteria thing had been going on for as long as I could remember. As I began to consider throwing in the towel, I kept reading about GFO and the BRS Reactor.
I thought "Whats another hundred bucks?" (Reactor & High Capacity GFO) So I ordered it.
Now mind you, I had been testing for Phosphates and never got a reading, even using the D-D High Sensitivity kit.
Well, now, a month later, the slime has all but vanished from the tank, and I did not scrub it off. Changed the filter sock every couple of days and cleaned the skimmer about the same as the junk died off.
This thing ROCKS with the High Capacity GFO and ROX carbon!
Easy to setup, needed only an old MJ1200 I had in the garage to make it go.

Excellent Reactor - MaxiJet, not so much By AK on 11/21/11
AK would recommend this product to a friend
I am extremely happy with the reactor, but the Maxi-jet is so loud that I only ran it during the day on a timer - I mean ridiculously loud.
If you are using this for nano cube - get a MiniJet 606. It moves enough water and is Silent. The MiniJet 606 is the way to go. I mounted the reactor on the wall, so it's only has about 1' of head. Works like a charm. That Maxi-jet 1200 is WAY TOO LOUD!

Best purchase made By William on 11/17/11

I purchased 2 units one for GFO and one for Carbon. Both are running on a single mag 7 pump. Water is crystal clear, GFO tumbles nicely.
Overall design is superb. Their is not a better media reactor on the market in my opinion.
