This is a very well made product that performes how it should. I use it with the high compacity gfo and am very happy. Just run a little ro water through the media before adding the return to your sump to avoid the red cloud.

Great, just as expected. Running this with a mag5 pump which is overkill, but it's what I had laying around. As one user commented previously, the ROX carbon is a bit fine for the pads.

The two together was a God send since I was limited on electrical outlets . With in 2-3 days the coral and fish all were more active and vibrant .

Well the first thing that sucks is having to buy a separate pump for this thing. Second thing that sucks is that the GFO winds up not tumbling after about 3 or 4 days so I wish I would have gotten separate reactors with separate pumps, but oh well. I didn't notice any improvements once I started running it. However, with all that said I think it is more my fault for not doing more research before purchasing. I know a lot of people that use it and love it.

I am very pleased with the performance of these canister filters and I like their ease of use. This being my first saltwater tank I figured this setup was the best option. In the future I would rather have two different canisters to control the flow rates or just run one canister with both mediums in it.

After much research on the dual vs. 2 single reactors, I decided to try the dual and convert later if necessary. Upon first hookup, there is a slight tumble with the HC GFO, and virtually no tumble in the ROX .8 Carbon. I have this unit run off the main return (Mag 7.5) which also runs a 10 gal refugium. This is the first 'tee' after the pump and I have the ball valve turned barely open. I would recommend (if you can) running this unit off a separate pump as the MJ1200 is noisy when flow is restricted.

Relatively easy to change media out and theres nothing to leak or give problems. I have mine plumbed into my main pump manifold so I don't have to have another pump.

I've been very happy with this dual reactor. I haven't had any issues with too much flow in the carbon chamber. Easy to replace the media.

I had problems with it initially. I was using a standard GFO in it and it didn't take much flow for it to grind and cause my tank to look like surface of Mars in a sand storm. Which also clogged the unit within a day. Lucky I had already ordered the High capacity GFO from BRS and tried that instead of the standard GFO and it worked great. I don't have a sump system but slipping the included tubing inside 1/2" ID flex and using a O-ring clamp worked fine. Unfortunately, I lost an open brain coral I had for years due to the clouding from the first GFO. But like I said the unit works great now.

Also, the MJ 1200 was not working very good for me since the intake part leaked so i ended up using a mag drive 5 that I had already. I have 5'+ head height which the MJ could not handle.

It works!!!! It is super cheap, easy to set up, and very effective. This is a must buy fir anybody with a heavy bioload ir just wants to keep a cleaner looking reef!!

Bad right out the box. Hooked it up, put in the recommended carbon & gfo rinsed the media with rodi water and the connections were leaking all over my floor. Unit clogs in less than a week, very little water flow. Also, for sumpless tanks it won't reach all the way to the tank if you have it in your stand. Never saw a decrease in phosphates within a month of using. Love brs but just not the dual reactor. Now have to buy a better one.

I have had this reactor running for a few months and am pleased with it. Its very easy to use and I like that i can hang it off to the side and not place in my sump. I would have rather purchased separate units to control individual flow rates though.

Ive been running the BRS dual reactor for a couple months now. Its a great unit, works great, but if you don't run filter socks it will clog up fast. If I could go back I would purchase 2 separate reactors instead of the dual.

I bought this item back in April and love it. I was looking at just making my own but this ended up being cheaper after pricing everything out. So easy to setup and use with the quick connects, I had this opperating in a few min. I run it off of a valve from my main pump and the control valve that came with this provides great control of the water flow needed to opperate correctly with my GFO.
