Many of the reactors cost twice this or more and are only 1 stage. with this reactor you can maintain both GFO and carbon seperatly. So you're not wasting the GFO

I am very disappointed in this product. It would constantly clog and I would have to take it apart and clean the sponges. If I tried to run it without sponges I would have to take it apart and strain the media and this was with running a sponge on the pump. I also saw no reduction in nitrates or phosphates after running it for am month. I also changed the media twice just to be safe. Definitely not worth the money I paid and I would not feel right selling it to someone else.

I have an overstocked reef tank... enough said my phosphates were always a bit high even when I did a lot of water changes. I had to do one every week to keep it at bay. My corals never really had amazing colors and great growth. I bought this product and the BRS GFO and since than my phosphates read zero! I love this thing!

I always had a problem with my phosphates because I like to overstock my tank with fish! What can I say I like to see things swimming around. My phosphates were always a little high because of this and my corals wouldn't grow as fast or have as nice color. Since I got this reactor and the BRS media for it my phosphates have been zero! I love this ting!

If you're like me, you looked everywhere else and still have not decided on which reactor to get. I took the plunge and bought this setup with the pump. I love it. 5 to 10 minutes install ans its done. You will ffind there are no screws to undo, no tricky seals to lineup, and no mess with changing media. You can also buy spare cartridges to have on hand to change media quickly and reuse them forever. The price is right. I'm glad I purchased this reactor combo.

very happy with this reactor I'am using a old MJ 1200 pump i had laying around and it works great , no problem getting the right water flow , using BRS granular GFO with the ROX 0.8 carbon the cyano I had in my refugium was gone within a week

Its nice to see a company build a awesome product and not try to reinvent the wheel. This unit is built with HIGH QUALITY OEM RO/DI canisters that are proven last. Other reactors on the market manufacture unique canisters of lower quality and of poor design. The GFO and carbon spin just perfect in this reactor, its clear easy to see, and also easy to adjust.

The unit was well built and a great value considering other reactors out there. My only gripe is difficulty in trying to find an adapter to connect a 1/2" flexible tube to the Mur loc fittings. I currently have a pump already going thru the UV and would like to continue the flow to the reactor.

I was struggling with algae in my tank, and my water was not as clear as I wanted it to be. I bought this with the MJ1200 and in one month I have seen an unbelievable change. My water has cleared up to crystal, and my algae growth as declined significantly. The media is so easy to change there is not reason to not have the dual reactor. I love it!!!

got it in the mail today took me about 10 minutes to hook it up very very happy with this dual reactor made very well can already tell its going to last a long time all the fittings hoses and the mj 1200 are great the flow valve works great to control the tumble of the gfo cant say anything bad about it other than the top housing is made of plastic but its strong so dont see a issue i would say buy this over any single reactor any day and the price is great to two reactors and a pump cant beat it

Honestly this product is great; its very well made, and the "canisters" are so over the top in terms of construction that the thing feels like it could take anything you would hit it with. There is one single thing that I was hoping for when I ordered it; and that was a metal bracket similar to the RODI brackets; but this one is plastic. Not a big deal... but it does bend a little if the canisters are a little tight when you are trying to remove them. Obviously price would go up with a metal bracket, but perhaps BRS could add it as an option!

This is probably the best reactor on the market, especially for the price. I have always used carbon bags as part of my media in my DIY mechanical filter. They worked well but used lots of carbon. Having a reactor lets you use less carbon with much more results. You’re forcing the water through the carbon so the water doesn't just run over it!!!! This makes complete sense now. This dual reactor makes it easy to change out your carbon and keeps the cost down. Simple but ingenious design that makes reef keeping that much easier. Easy = you will be more willing to do it.

Built solid enough. On par with BRS RO/Di standards. The lines are HALF inch quick connects tho. I was hoping to be able to use the pierce valve from my RO unit, and just have the reactor "T" off my return line and just dial the ball valve in. Was a real bummer to find this out, after I got it in. 4 stars to value because I need to buy either a pump or a another pierce valve.

I recently got into the hobby and bought a used tank, wow it has been a lot of work to get it where it should have been as far as water chemistry. Thanks to this product and others from BRS my am happy to report my water is clear and my Nitrates and Phosphates are pretty much non existent! This reactor is easy to set up and works like a charm.

Set-up was easy, the pruduct is well built and easy to install, even in a crouded stand. Not sure yet on the pump seems to move enough water with 1/2 cup of GFO and Carbon not sure how it will perform at max capacity.

This is a very well made product that performes how it should. I use it with the high compacity gfo and am very happy. Just run a little ro water through the media before adding the return to your sump to avoid the red cloud.

Great, just as expected. Running this with a mag5 pump which is overkill, but it's what I had laying around. As one user commented previously, the ROX carbon is a bit fine for the pads.

Well the first thing that sucks is having to buy a separate pump for this thing. Second thing that sucks is that the GFO winds up not tumbling after about 3 or 4 days so I wish I would have gotten separate reactors with separate pumps, but oh well. I didn't notice any improvements once I started running it. However, with all that said I think it is more my fault for not doing more research before purchasing. I know a lot of people that use it and love it.

I am very pleased with the performance of these canister filters and I like their ease of use. This being my first saltwater tank I figured this setup was the best option. In the future I would rather have two different canisters to control the flow rates or just run one canister with both mediums in it.

After much research on the dual vs. 2 single reactors, I decided to try the dual and convert later if necessary. Upon first hookup, there is a slight tumble with the HC GFO, and virtually no tumble in the ROX .8 Carbon. I have this unit run off the main return (Mag 7.5) which also runs a 10 gal refugium. This is the first 'tee' after the pump and I have the ball valve turned barely open. I would recommend (if you can) running this unit off a separate pump as the MJ1200 is noisy when flow is restricted.
