I bought the combo with pump. I love these reactors and they certainly do the job. After I had a hair algae outbreak I decided to start using GFO to keep phosphate in check. My phosphate was at .73 ppm when I started, and two weeks later it was at .04 ppm.
I am not convinced on the carbon yet, but I am not sure that I would even notice a difference.
It gets 4 stars because the MJ1200 pump doesn't seem enough to keep the GFO from turning into a solid block, which decreases the overall water flow through the reactors. I would recommend a Mag-3 instead.

I bought the kit with pump and was very happy to see how easy and fast it was to setup. The whole thing is as easy to setup if you have a RO/DI setup already. After buying this one I purchased the single for my freshwater tank.

cant complain easy to setup and they have a nice reef calculator tell you amount of gfo or carbon to use. fits nicely besides my sump and for this price every reefer should have one.

This product is great. It is easy to use and with added pump sold with it works great. I have a 210 with 90 gallon sump half full. This holds exactly the rite amount of GFO I need 2 cups but no extra room.

Over-all i would say this is a fine dual reactor that gets the job done. I would however recommend a larger pump than the MJ 1200.

I ordered the duel reactor to run on my 75 gal mixed reef. Love the reactor but the maxi jet 1200 was a bad overkill. I had it dialed over 3/4s of the way off to get it to stop blowing the gfo everywhere. I guess it just depends how high u mount it. My reactor is just above my sump so it didn't have far to go. Also one other thing is that I plan to separate them and add a splitter on my pump so I can control their flow individually. Other than that, I love it.

Purchased the dual carbon and GFO reactor with pump. In about an hour it was locked and loaded. After using for a couple weeks of use there is a difference. My water is crystal clear and no phosphates!

The BRS dual reactor was one of the first, "real" pieces of grown up aquarium gear that I ever got. Instantly, my water was clear, and phosphates were way down. I run Rox Carbon, and GFO. The reactor is quiet, easily adaptable to most pumps, and never clogs or leaks. I have several of them on my tanks, and I would never go with anything else.

System works. My gfo doesnt evenly tumble, especially after a few days of use and worse as the time goes on untill I change the media. When it comes time to change the media I feel like i'm going to break the bracket that holds them together everytime I try to twist off a canister lol. I wish I didnt have to tighten it that tight (leaks other wise). I do have to say my phosphates are low so I cant complain because the system is doing what it's made to do and for the price you cant beat it. I would recommend this product to someone on a budget not able to buy a high dollar reactor (me)

These reactors couldn't make running carbon and GFO any easier! I installed mine using my T off my return and moderate flow with the included valve. Works great! The quality of the components used to assemble this reactor are superb! I highly recommend this product to anyone looking for an easy way to run carbon and GFO on their tank. I do recommend that you purchase a few extra cartridges to quick and easy media changes!

The best part IMO is the space it saves by combining the two reactors into one. So far Ive had great results, but like someone else said I might go bigger than the 1200 for the pump, especially when you have the valve to fine tune the flow

I recieved my reactor and it was good quality material except for the hoses and the 90 degree elbow and pump connectors. I installed the system according to the instructions and made sure everything was tightend and hoses put in correctly but when I started the system to do the initial flush of the media the connectors of the hoses on the 90 degree elbows and connector for the pump to hose began to leak and spray all over. It took about 4 to 5 attempts of before I finally got the connectors to stop leaking and it's still sketchy. I think it's due to the hardness of the hoses that it doesn't make it a snug fit. Bulk Reef should look into some more flexible hosing and a better connectors for the hoses. I still feel that there may be a leak if I touch the reactor slightly whcih isn't very comforting. Other than that everything else seems to work properly but could use a better connection in the hose and pump area.such as putting a barb connectors instead of using the same type of connectors for the RODI systems and more flexible hosing. It just doesn't seem to work right with what's given. I would recommend this produt to someone as the vaule and matrial is good with the exception of the connectors. Which I'm thinking it's just mine.

For the money this is a great reactor. I personally had issues with particles/detritus getting traped in the reactor and decreasing flow. I would recomend a larger pump than the MJ1200, but thats just my two cents.

I love the fact that I can run GFO and Carbon at the same time in one reactor with less hassle. It is quite large but what do you expect with 2 reactors, the changing of media is made simple with the new canister setup. Love It!

I set this up on my 75 gallon system. Mounted in the stand above the sump running gfo on the first side and 3 bags of purigen in the 2nd side. it polishes the water nicely and the pump is more than strong enough even with 2 feet of head.

Very easy to setup and utilize. The change to clear media canister makes it very easy to see if your media is tumbling at the proper rate or not. My water is as clear as its ever been and my phosphates are at a consistent 0. Another great BRS product!

This reactor is quality. I was debating sharing the GFO and Carbon in the one chamber reator, but Im SOOO glad I went with the dual chamber. Changing out media is simple. It takes me literally 5 minutes or less. After handling this reatcor for 2 minutes you can tell its quality. BRS provided everything I needed to hook up my reactor. Thank you! I have never had and issue, leak, anything with this product and would reccomend it to anyone.

I had some similar problems with clogging as some other reviewers have had. I found a solution however and now they are running great with no problems at all. The bottom of the media canister i had to open up those plastic rings so they allowed more flow through. I took a phillips head screwdriver and basically pried and broke those rings apart, as that is where the clogging is happening. I did the same for the plastic ring that goes on the top over the top sponge. A little unorthodox but its working great now.

This is a great product for cleaning any size tank. It works like a dream. Media changes take seconds and are so simple. my only complaint is it takes some getting used to to get it running effeciently. my suggestion is to get some extra canisters for when you preform media changes. It makes life easier and ensures the media is in a clean can, which is very important as flow becomes very restricted when the canisters get dirty and clogged (a cheap toothbrush will do the trick in cleaning these and clearing debris). Any ways, This is a must have, this combined with ROX and high capacity GFO and youll forget what test results looked like when they bad or too high.

The reactor itself is great. Well designed, easy to work with and change the media on etc. The pump that this reactor is paired with is not cutting it. I'm probably going to have to T my return line on my return pump to get better flow. I would highly recommend the reactor, but the pump needs to be bigger/stronger to push the water thru the media. I get barely a trickle (10GPH, literally, I timed it on a five gallon bucket).

Had the unit installed for about 2 weeks. Very easy set up. Comes with nice gate valve. Push fittings make set up a snap. Only minor compliant is that the tube is pretty stiff limiting the way you route the tube.

I have 2 of these and they both suffer from the same problem after a while they clog up and no longer work and I'm getting tired of cleaning them out before the gfo is ready to be changed. and the sponges even get hard and crusty. I'd recommend the UF15 universal reactor keeps the flow and the gfo tumbling .

I find it very easy to get good flow thru the reactor to where my gfo tumbles, and carbon doesn't. Takes only about 10min to change out both sides. Will always use for my carbon, gfo needs

I love this reactor. After opening the shipping package I could tell right away that this was quality. I've had other reactors but this is by far the best one I have ever owned. Changing gfo/carbon is no longer a hassle. Has not leaked once and the push fittings that come with the kit are also quality. Highly recommended.
