Great product, great value! Make sure to have an extra set of these on hand. Really makes changing our media easy when you have back-ups ready to install when needed.

If u have a reactor then having a couple extra cartridges is a must. Makes changing gfo and carbon quick and easy. These clear hard ones are durable and being able to see ur gfo to make it tumble correctly is great.

The way the plastic rings on the bottom and top of these canisters are made make the unit susceptible to clogging in high nutrient systems. My unorthodox solution was to take a phillips head screwdriver and pry apart and break the bottom rings and the top plastic ring piece that goes over the top sponge. Much better flow and allows the filter to work as intended without clogging up after a week.

The new style of Cartridge is amazing I bought a pair of these at my LFS and my reef buddy did as well. they are much beeter than the old style and you can fine tune them much easier due to the clarity of the cartridge. also they are great for taking long vacations as you can have a spare set ready to go for you tank sitter and it is as simple as take old one out put new one in.

These things are much better then the old version. Although the gfo needs to get a good scrubbing. It seems to clog up easily.

This cartrige is as described. It is much easier to see GFO tumble in it than the old cartriges. I replaced an old style cartrige in my older BRS dual reactor and it fit perfectly and works very well. One commet is that the insert in the top that goes under the cap is a bit hard to remove at times. It has a little nub in the center that you can pull on but more often than not I have to use needle nose pliers to get it out when I change my media. No big deal but something to know ahead of time so you aren't frustrated when trying to remove it by hand.

These new cartridges are a huge improvement over the old style cartridges. The tumbling is perfect, requires less flow, and the ability to run GFO without the filter pads is priceless.

Super clear acrylic makes it super easy to see the tumbling gfo. You can really fine tune the valve for perfect tumbling.

Maybe my expectations were too high or I have not seen the old one to compare. The plastic is not as clear as I had thought it would be. It still looks cloudy to me. Its still tough to see your media moving because you're looking through more than one piece of plastic. For what it is though it does a good job. I can see the GFO tumbling. Good to have as a backup for the original cartridge when its time to change media as others have mentioned.

I highly recommend these new style cartridges. The ease of use is much better than the older style. The flow is much more even throughout the chamber and best of all you no longer need to use a sponge which makes cleaning and refilling so much easier.

Had the older style canisters. Worked well but made it hard to see media to control flow. With these new clear hard shell, its so easier to see now. Also with the grates on the bottom the media can't get thru and less pads to clog up. A+

Its much easier to see what is happening and I am getting a more even flow throughout the media. My first batch of gfo gave much better results throughout its life (lower readings for longer time).
