Makes my tank maintenance very easy and less time consuming. I run two single BRS reactors on my tank and the mj1200 is just not powerful enough to run both. I have a hard time getting the gfo to tumble.

This is the best reactor for running carbon and gfo. It is super easy to set up, and with the new cartridges, it is even easier to fill it up with media. I would definitely reccomend this to a friend.

Construction is solid, easy to setup even includes a valve to control flow. Unfortunatly I've found both the GFO and Carbon I'm running through starts clumping after a week or two which then cuts the flow down considerably. However for the price I think its a fantastic value.

I wouldn't try to mix the gfo and carbon in same reactor, I have a hard enough time getting just the gfo to tumble properly. But it's a well made reactor, same thing as the RO/DI unit. Definately recommend to friends.

I've had my BRS GFO reactor in operation for just over two months without any problems at all. I really like that this unit is leak proof and easy to wall mount up and out of the way. Mine is setup with one of the foam filters at the top and no filter at the bottom. My flow rate through the unit hasn't changed at all. This is my kind of product, set it and forget it.

The clear cylinders make adjusting the GFO flow very easy. Well built structure and components, this will last for many many years. I flowed the water backwards though the filter to prevent tumbling of the carbon. The filters are very versatile!

This is a well built reactor and easy to use and refill. My only complaint is that the stiff tubing is very hard to work with.

Could not be more happy with the brs reactor, it works great. I run mine with GFO only. Tapped into my mag drive 7 return line rather than adding a pump and it works great.

This reactor is sturdy and well built, does not leak, and is easy to use/service. My only gripe is that it uses Mur-lok tubing and connectors, which is incompatible with the current pump I have without some sort of adapter.

This is a good reactor for GFO and or carbon, I do find easier to use one or the other, not both at the same time. My only complaint is the refillable cartridge is a bit difficult to see how well the GFO is tumbling, however BRS has started selling clear see through cartridge.

An outstanding reactor for a reasonable price. Unlike a lot of other reactors and aquarium gear, this comes with everything you need to get it going in minutes (except the media, but of course you're going to buy that here too right?) Took me about 10 minutes to set up, 5 if you don't count the time it took me to find some screws to mount the top to the inside of my cabinet.
Wonderful design with the inner and out chambers makes changing out the media simple and mess free. The use of quick connect fittings was a wise choice. Attention to detail is evident when you notice that both the input and output hoses are connected to elbows that swing 360 degrees. This makes placement a breeze. Let's face, everyone's sump is different and things can get crowded in there. The ability to adjust the exact position of the hoses is truly refreshing. I was able to fine tune exactly where I have my feed pump and where the output dumps.
I'm running mine with BRS GFO at the bottom and BRS Carbon at the top. Water quality is outstanding.
Easy to use, attention to detail in the engineering, and a great price. What else can you ask for? I continue to be impressed with BRS and they remain my go-to stop for aquarium supplies.

I purchased this reactor with the suggested Cobalt MJ pump and I'm very happy overall. The quality is excellent and the accessories make it very easy to implement. The sponges don't do the best job containing the carbon that I'm using, however I haven't noticed any carbon completely escaping the reactor.

Carbon is very important in a saltwater aquarium and GFO can ease a lot of headaches with phosphates, but them both together in one reactor and you have a product well worth the less than $40 I spend on mine. Great buy, easy to use. Thanks BRS

The sponges included with this reactor are unsatisfactory. ROX carbon runs right through them. I have learned that it wasteful and nearly impossible to successfully run GAC and GFO in the same reactor, no matter what type of carbon. It is implied in the product description that this is normal practice which has have misled myself and many other new aquarists. This reactor is not ideal for tumbling media. Word of advice: research before you buy.
On the other hand, this reactor does not leak and is not difficult to set up or perform maintenance on.

The item is constructed great and worked as advertised. Just remember to get the cobalt powerhead and not the marineland due to noise levels. This item did not leak on me.

This reactor is a great investment to any aquarium. It is very well built, including the ball valve, which was a pleasant surprize. I installed this in my FOWLR tank in minutes and with no leakes. Shipping took a mere three days to recieve and was well packaged. Thanks BRS, you guys are the best!
