I bought this reactor to run GFO in my reef tank with some hair algae and it works great! easy to use and takes no brain to set up! Will be buying another to run carbon! Great product

I used this reactor for about a year and have no major gripes...but be careful with it on two fronts.
1. The bracket broke from unit after 6 months of use. The plastic bolts that hold it in place all failed from tightening and untightning the reactor. Perhaps I was over thightening??? I don't think I was.
2. The reactor had a tendency to clog way more quickly than other reactors I've used...make sure you place a sponge filter over the pump intake! That seemed to help (but only a little).
***I would strongly recommend the delux to avoid the issues with the mounting bracket - the delux has the bracket fused to the lid.

Purchased one these for my tank to run Carbon. Combined with ROX 0.8 carbon, my tank was noticeably clearer in less than 24 hours. It is a solidly built product that is easy to install, and the media holder design makes it easy to run the right amount of carbon without causing a lot of tumbling and movement.

I've been reefing for three years now and this is the first time that I've ordered equipment and found that it came with instructions. Loved how easy it was to set up and install. Using it as GFO/carbon combined and can't wait to see an inprovement in my display. The great videos are helpful also. Please keep up the great service. BRS is now my go to website.

I purchased 2 of these to run carbon and GFO individually. The reason I went with 2 singles instead of the double unit is because BRS recommends it and because there were a lot of reviews of the double unit getting clogged every once and awhile. Overall, the reactors are built strong, extremely easy to set up, easy to adjust, and easy to maintain. A+ from me!

I'm running GFO and Carbon together and it works flawlessly. Easy to setup and change media.
You do get a bit of a water mess when unscrewing the canister, so make sure you have a towel wrapped around it when you unscrew.

I purchased 2 of these to run carbon and GFO. Run off a manifold system to control flow seperately. Absolutely the best I have used. Well built and makes media changes are extremely easy. That means less maintenance time and more time to enjoy the tank.
Will upgrade my other canisters to BRS type soon.

I love this reactor. i run just gfo at the moment but like that i have to option to run both carbon and gfo. if your looking to get a reactor this is what your looking for.

Very heavy duty. Almost heavier in weight than it needs to be. Takes very limited time to set up. I use with the MJ900 pump and have no problems with flow. As some other reviews state, the hoses are a little stiff and hard to move around. Also, when I put push connectors together, I originally had leaks. I turned off and used more force, no more leaks...just takes a little force. All in all I plan to get another one for GFO.

I've used these reactors for years with success but ever since the new cartridge was introduced my filters hold air whenever I change the media and it's very difficult to remove. I've tried different filling methods, banged them against hard objects to dislodge air, and even upgraded to a mag 3. Unfortunately I still have the same problems with the newer cartridge model
