This reactor is made of high quality and comes with everything needed to set it up. Very simple concept, basically a water filter housing. The only improvement which would be nice to see in the future is the media cartridge to have the ability to remove the bottom strainer and not just the top. This way you can "pack" the filter media easier to the top of the cartridge when running mixed carbon/gfo so you don't get the tumble effect. Everything else is perfect and for the price you can't beat and this product definitely out performs the other name brand reactors for fraction of the cost!

Installed this on a 37 gallon grow out tank and have had zero problems with it. Bought it as a Gfo reactor with brs Gfo and the pump. The best true plug and play I have purchased and the corals are loving it. Acan and blasto's have never been this open and my zoas are reaching for the stars. Phosphates have been an issue and no they are at a constant zero. Very happy with this product. Been over a month now and still zero issues.

i have the dual reactor carbon/gfo i find that running carbon first then gfo works great, just dont have the gfo tumbling too fast. Great product.

I love this thing. I work on a lot of tanks and have seen alot of reactors in action. Most a thin plastic tubes that crack or leak in a short time. I love this reactor because its tough. Its also super easy to clean. The tubing and connectors are quality as well. I wouldn't waste my money on a "brand name" reactor.

Bought 2 reactors one for carbon and the other for gfo. The reactors are durable and made with very good material (dont think they will crack.) I've had them for 10 months now and definitely think i made the right decision in buying the reactors. The only advice I would give a potential buyer is to think of the fittings you will need in order to hook up the reactors to your liking. For example they give you flexible pipe with the reactors and the pump. Sure you could bend the pipe to wherever you want the water to go. However, if your going to mount the reactors you may want to buy some elbows in order to make quick bends.

I bought this reactor for GFO, I find it to be built of quality parts and you get everything needed for installing,minus the pump. It feels super heavy duty, unlike some other reactor i have seen at the same general price point. If you looking for a reactor for GFO I don't think you kind find a better one. works exactly the way it should . I am very happy with mine.

Just got the my new unit up and running and by far it the best and well built unit I have. Its a little larger than some but seems to operate much better. The GFO tumbles every nice and slow, and much more evenly than other. It also looks like it will be lees prone to leaks.

I got the kit came with pump and everything needed to get the unit up and running, and only to a few minutes.

I've had many reactors, and this one is by far the best quality. Really heavy duty, solid stuff. I will only use this for all of my reactor needs.

I really wanted to love this reactor since I like so many products here at BRS but I simply cannot. The filter is pretty easy to install and get going and took me about 15-20 min to get fully functional. I use (the older version) MJ1200 with this reactor that seems Ok for the reactor.
My biggest complaint is how easily this reactor gets clogged...I use it mixed with GFO and Carbon and after a week I get no flow coming out of it. I do not understand because the reactor is only 1/3 - 1/2 full of media. When it gets clogged I have to take it apart and clean out the inside canister to clean it out. My next problem is the sponges that are provided are there to hold the media in the top of the canister when you are mixing GFO and Carbon. However, once the media gets wet and heavy it starts to sink and the sponge sinks down a bit making the media tumble, and making the GFO break down the carbon. This drives me CRAZY. I am an OCD kind of person and I hate everything that is not perfection. I understand this product gets glamorous reviews but it simply did not work for me. I would not recommend it.

Overall it is my first experience with a reactor of any kind. It is extremely simple to configure. I did not need to purchase the MJ1200 with the unit, as I had an older style. The flow from the MJ1200 is a bit heavy for a single reactor but I would think perfect for two! So might as well get the bigger option first.

Overnight my corals have began to open back up to full - my finger leather is showing great polyp extension for the first time in months. My phosphates were off the charts!

2 of these in use - 1 for GFO, 1 for carbon. Nice design, well made, easy maintenance (don't lose the wrench!). Running BRS GFO, maintaining 0ppm phosphate. Carbon reactor using BRS "large particle lignite", tank water clean & clear, livestock happy - which is the ultimate goal.

I use it for gfo reacter. I Like the reacter but hate the maxi jet pump it came with. It too noisy. So if you are buying it do get the pump. I have fed mine off the main pump . And is working great.
