poor bonding of magnets By Robert on 4/29/13

I have bought two. both have fallen apart when new (unused). the clip breaks if you open it very wide after a few months. I modify these and use my own exterior magnet. the clip is great untill it breaks.

works fine after some fixing By monkiboy on 3/27/13

the magnets are quite strong which is a good thing but if you are not careful sliding off the two ends you will tear the white coverings right off. they look to be held on by cheap glue with little surface area holding them together. like other persons posted, i used some super glue and held it in place for a while and am extra careful separating the two halves when i have it outside of the tank. better yet, keep them permanently separated. manufacturer should package this with a separator of thick cardboard to prevent this from happening when buyer receives it.

Works Fine.. But.... By gmastr85 on 1/6/13

My veggie clip works just fine and has held up. It's plastic and not all that heavy duty, but gets the job done. The only problem I have is that its too expensive. I paid 15 for it. Two weeks later I found a very similar "no name" clip at my local fish store for 2 dollars. There really is no difference between the two except the color. 4 stars for the clip, 2 stars for price, equals 3 stars overall. I would not purchase this particular clip again due to price, even though it works just fine. If you have no other options then go for it!

Piece of pricey junk! By John on 12/27/12

Mine fell apart after 30 days on the job. First the outside magnet thing came apart, but I was still able to hold it together when repositioning the clip. Today the clip itself came unglued from the part inside the aquarium. When it worked I like it better than the suction cup since it's easier to place down low in the tank. For now I'm back to the lousy suction cup, but at least it hasn't fallen apart!

Works as designed By TridentSSBN on 11/24/12

I have had two of these for a year and have yet to have a problem with either of them. I think they are a great product, and as for everything of course there could be room for improvement. This item though works exactly as sold.

VEGGIEMAG By Willy on 9/23/12

This tool is a good idea, But it needs improvment. The plastic clip broke after 6 months use. The outside magnet plastic face came unglued. I just took some coral glue and that cured that. A hi-grade stainless steel spting clip might be better. I am going to buy a second one just for the ease of use.

Piece of crap. I received mine and it was in the tank a total of a few hours and the inside piece separated from the outside piece. Not because of loss of magnetism but because the flimsy piece of plastic that the magnet is glued to separated from the algae holder. Letting the algae holder float around the tank.
I tried to repair using super glue which compounded the issue with no fix.
Will never buy again, stick to the suction cups.

As others have said, these things fall apart. It's such a bummer to be forced into self-repair when you buy at this price based on the premise that value is there. Don't do it, the glued parts fail.

It's a clip. With a Magnet. Nuff said. By Ben on 5/27/12

It's nice that it's a magnet, that's for sure. I like that I can move it around outside the tank with the opposit magnet.
