Strong - read if you are buying this with BRS dry rock By Jeff on 6/1/13
Jeff would recommend this product to a friend
Epoxy putty is strong, and I use the Aquastik brand for my rock work.
My guess is a few of us are looking at this item to complement a purchase of BRS dry live rock - below is my suggestion:
If you just want to ensure that rocks are balanced on top of each other, my bet is everything sold here will work.
If you are putting together complex, weight-bearing structures (ex: arches) that look natural, I suggest buying 2 4-ounce sticks for every 50 pounds of dry rock; also, add an order of gel super glue to your order. Using enough Aquastik and applying the gel super glue between the Aquastik and rock after settling gives the rock work a lot of strength.
Optional: rinse/scrub the rock in saltwater and let it re-dry before you start applying this item. Certain surfaces on the dry rock will "come apart" once re-hydrated - it makes applying the Aquastik difficult, but you can avoid most of this with the rinse/scrub/re-dry.

Once it sets it is great, but getting it to do what you want it to do is tough.

I used this to aquascape with the bra reefsaver rock. I love this stuff, it holds tight and won't budge after it sets.

Not for all uses By Dissapointed on 4/3/13

I'm sure it would work great assembling rockwork outside the tank, or cementing small frags or shards to a larger structure. I'll tell you what doesn't work is trying to assemble a live rock structure underwater in an existing aquarium. THIS STUFF DOES NOT STICK TO WET SURFACES. It will work its way into a porous structure and harden, but it will not stick. It also hardens very fast, which is good for attaching frags, not so good for building an arch or cave. Even after hardening, if there wasn't enough large open pores for it to grab it just peels off the first time stress is applied. I used an entire large tube trying to make the simplest of structures without success. A total waste. Oh, and they weren't kidding about it causing skimming problems. They say turn off skimmer for a while after use…yea, turn it off before use. About 10 minutes after my first piece hit the water my skimmer overflowed. Im sure this stuff has its place, but for me it was a complete waste of money.

Stronge Hold By Tyler on 3/29/13

I was a little skeptical on using this stuff cause I used the Instant Ocean epoxy an that was just awful... but I gave this a shot an it holds up pretty well and the greyish color is actually pretty nice with new dry live rock.

I like the color of this one it blends in. However, had just as much trouble getting it to work for me as I do the normal white epoxy.

The worst glue I've ever used, won't even stick out of the water.
Worst part is I bought 3 sticks.

I used it on my unstable rock scape and to hold some frags on rocks worked excellent. The color blends in with the rock and was almost rock hard in bout 20 minutes. I already ordered another stick of it.

Worked well! By Jason on 6/27/12

I used less than 1 complete stick of this this to secure the all of the dry rockscape I purchased from BRS (40+ lbs). It bonded the rock together very securely and after only a month was barely distinguishable from the rock as it cycled and colored up with coralline algae (I purchased the "Stone Grey" color). As others have noted, make sure you 'mash' the epoxy together well before use to ensure it's nice and tacky.

Great for aquascaping! By Hugo on 3/18/12

I used this last night to hold up all my rock work including a very unstable arch. I checked it this morning and all 200 lbs of LR are pretty much one solid piece! It took one full 4oz tube to do all 200 lbs (about 25-35 rocks). I did the shake Test and it is extremely solid. Follow the directions and you won't go wrong.

works great. stickier than the stuff from hardware store By zach on 3/14/12
zach would recommend this product to a friend
I bought a stick of similar stuff from the hardware store that said it was for underwater applications. It worked ok, but wasn't nearly sticky enough to cling to the frag plug or rock unless you really worked with it. The aquastik is stickier and really grabs on to whatever surface you apply it. I mixed up my first blob a little hurriedly and it didn't get as sticky. The 2nd blob I kneaded for a full minute before applying and it was just right.

I ordered the red epoxy because I thought it would blend in better than the tan epoxy I've used in the past. The red color is a little odd. It doesn't blend at all. I would probably go with the tan epoxy next time.

This is a very good epoxy.
This thing worked well under water with no mess or dissolving like some other expensive expoxy.
If you dont know how to use epoxy please read up before using it.
This is as good an epoxy as you will find.
Leave skimmer wide open till it settles down.
