I like that this comes in a nice sleek container. The Alk test is super easy to do. The Ca and Mg test take a little more time but being able to titrate so easy is nice. I like that it tells you how much each mL is to the end result so if you have super high values you can keep going with a refill of the syringe. You just have to calculate it.

I also like that the refills are not that expensive AND you get BRS points for purchasing them. It's nice to get something for purchasing your everyday products like this! Will continue to use and purchase from BRS!

I started off using API because they were cheaper and I thought that was all I needed. After a month or so I decided I wanted to check on my Magnesium levels. I went with the Red Sea test because of good reviews.

I love the way that you titrate the solution because you don't get messy like with the API. The color changes seem to be noticeable and watching the videos made by Red sea are a must just to double check the actual color you want to be seeing. The packaging of this test is also really nice. Compact and sleek 3 tests don't take up a lot of room under your tank! I will likely continue using the Red sea because you can get the reagents only and withe BRS you get nice regular bonus points for purchasing them!

After using API for cycling purposes I purchased the Red Sea Pro Foundation kit. I am currently on my second kit since I used up most of the components of the first one and will continue using these kits. The results compare pretty close with the API kits but are more accurate. For example API measures CA and Alk by drops, you can not divide a drop by more than 1 so you get a larger range, RedSea uses mL where you can calculate per mL and get a smaller range.

The only test I hate performing is the Mag. It is not difficult or inaccurate, but is time consuming since you have to add each drop and swirl for 15seconds rather than adding all 5 at once. Not terrible and I prefer accuracy over ease of use.

Easy to use and water resistant! Laminated cards and plastic case will hold up to numerous refills. Results corresponded to other kits I had, so I'm confident of the accuracy. The titrator, which allows for single hand mixing, might be awkward for small hands. Other than that, it's a great product and part of my weekly regimen.

This test kit comes wonderfully packaged with excellent instructions on how to administer them. The test themselves are very straightforward and accurate. I compared them to my api test kit. I really like the titration method compared to the api test kit which makes you unscrew, drop, shake, etc etc. My only problem with the test kit is the Kh test. I found the color change to be very subtle and hard to judge. The Ca and Mg were very distinct so i had no problems with those. I usually ended up using my api test kit for Kh. But for its value, packaging this kit is hard to beat.

The accuracy of this kit is awesome, as well as how you get everything you need in a nice plastic case. I will say you should really watch the YouTube video Red Sea has for using the test. The bottom of the plunger itself needs to be at the ML mark rather than the substance level, this accounts for the plastic tip that's on there.

What I like best about these kits over others I've tried is that I can actually tell when the color changes to get an accurate reading.

Other tests I've tried I can hardly tell the difference between shades or when the color change is complete.

This is a great test kit. All the basics. The only concern I have is that the color that shows at end result is not the color that the testing card states you should look out for.

I did a little bit of research on the Ca and Mg to find the appropriate end test color.

Purchased both the NO3/P04 and this test kit at the same time. Both kits are well packaged and are much nicer than the standard cardboard/paper boxes other kits come in. I bought them as a comparison and replacement for my Elos kits that where running low on solutions. I was looking for something that I could just replace the reagents. Which with this kit you can. The accuracy of the kit seems good in comparison as the difference in results could be as simple as human error. Watch the videos on youtube posted by Red Sea. Provides a nice review of the kit and what to look for during the titration steps.

This is an excellent and easy to use kit. There are some Red Sea products that are so so, but these testing kits take things to a whole new level. I really like the accuracy of the titration system, and it provides for a LOT of tests. Really important when setting up your two part or calc reactor.

I've used just about every test kit on the market including some of the digital test kits. The saying "You get what you pay for" really applies to these kits. While you'll pay a bit of a premium price you'll find that the accuracy of these kits and method of dropping liquid is far easier than most other kits. You'll have to sacrifice a bit of time (about 1 minute per test) over other kits but if you own a reef tank the wait is well worth it.

Important note: The syringes used in this kit come in three pieces. The plastic tip, housing and plunger. Make sure the plastic tip is firmly (not too tight or you'll break it) pressed on the housing or you'll drop liquid everywhere but in the vial. Its actually pretty simple but I learned the hard way by trying to be too careful.

After using API for years I was convinced that they were good enough for hobbyists. That is until I got into serious reef keeping and my corals weren't looking their best. I purchased this kit to test my Calc/Alk/Mag and found that my levels were no where near what API had told me. I drove to my LFS and had them confirm with their kits (Salifert and Hanna Digital) and I was sold on why these a necessity. They give accurate tests time after time and are very easy and effective. RedSea also has fantastic customer support!

I had trouble with the color matching on this kit. The colors on the card is not the color that the water ever turns.Once you get this figured out it is ok.

I purchased the Red Sea Reef Foundation Pro Multi Test Kit to replace my Salifert test kits.
Overall pleased with these new test kits. The Alkalinity test does take some getting used to. (Thanks for the help Lue.)
And only needing to purchase refills makes this line of kits more economical.
