Still going strong By Chris on 9/28/12

Bought the 100w heater in march, it's september. Haven't had any problems with it. I would say that the tank sizes for the heaters are a little off, it has a hard time keeping up on chilly nights.

Does the job By Devlon on 9/10/12

What sets this heater apart is the external thermometer probe and the digital readout. It makes it easier to set the temp...rather than guessing.

Bought this a while back and hasn't failed on me yet. The LED thermometer provides great feedback and the one button interface provides simple yet versatile performance.

Temperature reading is not accurate By Seth on 9/7/12

I bought two 300W models a few months ago to go into my sump for a total system volume of 240 Gallons.
They two heaters are installed side by side with the temp probes in the same area. One meter reads 78F, the other is 76F. It's hard to say which one is correct, I will need a third temperature gauge now!

High Tech, Poor Quality By Jared on 6/3/12

I purchased a 100W just over 6 months prior to this review. Today, the heater has started reading '99' no matter where I put the probe. I would stay away from this brand until they figure out their quality issues.

questionable perfomance By Dale on 5/23/12

Bought 4 100w and 1 200 watt for fish room tanks (20H & 30L gallons) and DI water tub to replace recalled Marineland Stealth heaters. Seemed to be reasonably priced. Would be better if they filled tube with black sand instead of white to blend in with dark back of tanks. Minor point. 200 W in DI tub still going strong after over a year. 2 of the 100 W have stopped heating after about 4 months. 3 month warranty is really totally useless. Bought Finnex metal heater with anlog control at same time for 20L tank since it is much shorter for the shallower tank. This has been working fine. May look into these for future replacements but may be scared off Finnex brand.

I have been running this 300w Finnex HPS heater on my 90 gallon with 36 gallon sump for two months now and love it. It is easy to dial in at any temp you want with a digital screen to 0.1. Comes in very handy when wanting accuracy and stability for any aquarium. I am actually buy a second one as I am tying in another 50+ gallons to my existing set up. Great product.

Nice features, but doesn't last long By John on 2/19/12

I bought 2 of the 300 W heaters because the reviews seemed overall positive. I used these heaters (one at a time) on my 75 gallon marine tank. The first one lasted only one week when the temp went from 80 to 70 within one day. I replaced that one with a second heater and that one (set to 80) is also slowing loosing ground (tank is now down to 76) after only 2 weeks of use. Hard to believe that I just happened to get two defective heaters. These are made in China, which might explain the short life-span.

Great heater By Arthur on 2/4/12

I have this 300w heater in my 200 gallon system. 125 display tank, 75 gallon sump and it keeps my water at a steady 79-80F. My ambient temperature is 71F and this heater does a great job for its size. It's like half the length of other brands with the same wattage. Fits great in those sumps that aren't so wide/tall.

Not happy By Vincent on 1/30/12

I purchased one of these 300 watt heaters recently because of the reviews. However, I am not impressed. The first one I had shattered inside of my sump for some unknown reason. BRS was great about it and sent me out a replacement the very next day. Tonight when I came home I noticed that my tank was down to 74.5 degrees when I keep it at 80 degrees. For some reason the heater quit working. I tried troubleshooting without success. I will not by one of these again.
