A Great addition to your investment By Micah on 6/19/12

THIS IS A GREAT POWER-HEAD like its advertised small footprint fully controllable great flow and under flow little to no noise ect... I like the fact that it can be sync with radion led fixtures and an option of a backup battery in case of power fails. My only gripe is the cost, but I am a firm believer of you get what you pay for, so worth the investment...

I bought 2 of these pumps 1 year ago and had not any problems. They are a bit noisy, and also have many features such as wave maker, feed mode, which offset the slight noise they produce.

Great pumps, but no consensus on which pump combinations to buy By Laura on 5/20/12

I bought 2 mp40s & an mp 10 for my 95 gallon build (per Vortech rep recommendation), a nd had to return 1 mp40. I would have had to run all pumps at 25% to prevent everything from blowing all over the place! Still, great pumps.

Powerful, Programable and Pricey By Geoffrey on 5/8/12

I use the MP40w and two MP10w VorTech's in my 90 gallon reef tank. I can get the water flowing anyway I want. I prefer the tidal surge mode on two pumps and a constant fast mode on the MP10w positioned at the bottom of my tank. I have owned them for a year without any issues.

cutting edge, this is the frontier of pump technology By joshua on 4/11/12

With its endless features and unmistakable performance, this pump is by far the best thing on the market.... So I bought TWO!! Although one can be run on a system, I'd recommend getting at least two, one at each end to tak full advantage that the programmed modes have to offer. The sleek look of only the wetside being exposed in the tank is great, no bulk or wires in your display, and the ingenious power transfer through the glass is nothing short of a breakthrough. A+ Ecotech!

Pretty Good but By john on 3/29/12

The unit gets out of balance and then noisy. In my opinion after using this and tunze top unit the taam Polario is way better if you have a large tank. The water is pushed everywhere and no noise at the top of a center overflow it is hardly seen.
Only 170.00 ! But it is a large soda can size so under 150 gallon mabe too big.

AMAZING PUMPS By William on 3/13/12

These pumps are by far the most amazing pump on the market. The ability to adjust the flow and the variety of flow programs is outstanding. They are well worth every penny you spend for them. They are well styled and do not take up a lot of space inside the tank. I give my highest reccomendation for these pumps.

Yikes By Mike on 2/25/12

Even though this wireless pump is not wireless (except apparently with one exception that's useless unless you have more than one), is kind of noisy at its highest settings, and is obviously expensive, I love it. I have never seen a product have such a pronounced effect on livestock in the tank. Even the freaking fish are enjoying the "reef crest" flow mode, and the elegance in the middle of my tank has expanded impressively within a few hours. It's a snap to install and use. Looks like I can remove the other clunky powerheads I was using and eliminate the clutter without any problem. And while I can hear it whirring at the higher flow rates, it does not bother me at all. I think the MP40 is a better choice for a 75 reef compared to a single MP10. Even at full blast in reef crest mode, it's not overpowering. I have it dialed back to about 70% and that seems to do the trick.

1st this pump is to much 400 would be much better (which is why i gave it a 4 in value) with that said i still bought 2 with battery back up and absolutely will never buy anything else. you can do so much with this pump, and the peace of mind you get if the power goes out is very nice.i have heard of a few people complain about the noise but i must say it isn't that bad, don't get me wrong they are far from silent but what do you expect the motor is on the outside of the tank
