These powerheads are AMAZING!! Not only do they move water better than any other pump, but the under tow they create is outstanding. The versatility of modes and speed adjustments is something no one else can even dream of matching and makes setting up the perfect flow so much easier rather than playing around with other pumps that shoot water in a straight jetstream. This is not even taking into account the best feature, their size!! Having the motor on the outside is a great idea and really minimizes their appearance in your reef.
I only have it 4 star instead of 5 for 2 reasons, the first being price. They are so darn expensive but you do get what you pay for and they are the ONLY pump out there with their features. The second reason is noise. My Koralias were SILENT and these guys are far from it. During the break in it sounding like a minibike ramping up and down in my living room but after a couple weeks the noise has subsided to an acceptable level where if my TV is on I have a hard time hearing the pumps unless I am paying close attention for it. Still, for the price I would expect them to be able to make the pumps quieter than they are. They are not loud enough to make me want to remove them and the job they do is irreplaceable so dont bother looking for a better pump, it cant be found.

I'm so glad when i started my reef i bought the mp10wes since i was on the fence about adding another one. Well i finally got around to adding the 2nd around xmas time and man does it really show off with 2. I have mine set up on anti sync and the water moverment in my mixed reef is great. My coral are very happy and i love all the different programs you can run to mix it up. I mostly run NTM, but i also like to run lagoon mode and right before water changes I'll do constant mode to stir things up. Maintenance is light, i just clean the wet side weekly and haven't had any problems. Although the price is high, the quality and customer service is top notch and it well worth it.

Start out with the Koralia EVOs and had them running in wavemaker mode off my RKL. After only 2-3 months they were starting in reverse or not at all. I was considering running them constant again and adding a Tunze wavebox, but after reading the reviews, I'm so glad I got these. There is so much more flexibility with how much flow and various flow patterns. I'd defiantly recommend buying these off the start, don't cheap out!

this thing is so awesome. very controllable and easy to set up. i love the way it does not clutter my tank . more than enough flow for my 40 breeder sps tank. i would like to add a second one tho jut to get some opposed flow.

I've always been a cheap when it came to powerheads, but after years of putting up with koralias I bought a mp10, and wow. What a difference. Built great, the flexability and different modes you can do is amazing. I love feed mode and nutrient export mode, work just as promised! I literally am never buying anything other than vortech for the rest of my time in this hobby. Plain and simple.

I think this product is well worth the extra cost over other powerheads on the market. The ability to have alternating flow in a reef aquarium is vital to continued growth and the health of our livestock. I would definitely recommend every marine aquarium to have a controller of some sort that can alternate the flow and this product offers that at a moderate price point.

I use 1 of these in my 30 gallon Seahorse cube. Although the pump ends up being dialed down substantially, I love the fact that I can crank it up to aid with nutrient removal via my overflow. The Seahorses almost seem to enjoy riding the occasional wave! The best part about using this with horses is the fact that it allows me to dial down the flow during nighttime mode, during which the horses like to find their favorite hitching post and sway gently in the current. I like the idea of allowing them to get a good nights rest and not having to worry about them being tossed around while they try to mellow out for the night. If I ever upgrade to a large seahorse set-up I know that this pump can follow me a long ways, which is another great selling point!

this is such an awesome little powerhead, i splurged on it for my first tank, because i love how little space it takes up in the tank, and it was well worth it. the different settings are also such a plus.

First i started with 2 koralia 425 pumps and then added the hydor wavemaker controller for the two pumps. This worked farely well however i decided to upgrade to the mp10w es and WOW what a difference. I have a biocube 29 highly modified overstocked reef and being able to modify flow with the touch of a button is a must. I only have it turned up to 25% on reef crest mode and i may even have to turn it down. Its that powerful. All of my coral love it. This pump is so good i Bought another for my 8 gallon nano reef. And there a nice feature thats not advertised. I do not have them synched together being in different tanks , however when i put one infeed mode the other one accross the house goes into feed mode as well. The only bad thing is all the money i waisted trying to achieve what one of these pumps can on its own.

I run two of these on my frag tank and my SPS love it. I had one, but the flow was not enough to cover the full 3 feet unless I turned up the pump. At this level, the polyp extension was too low. Now that I have two of them I can run them slower and everything is happy. The undertow is amazing. I used to think these were loud, but when I got my new one, I realized my old one was not supposed to whine. This one is absolutely silent! So if it whines (even at full speed), contact ES and they are very responsive.
