The good:
No more guessing the colors
Very accurate
They give you reagents
Love the simpleness once you figure out how to do these

The bad:
They shove everything into the case and if you don't put everything back just right it won't close correctly
The instructions aren't as clear as they should be, so i just googled and watched the videos on how to do the tests. The terminology of unreacted sample and when you think about it, on some of these tests, it makes you go huh? So watch the videos.
The battery cover is a pain to get off

Overall so glad i bought these.. no more test kits to expire and trying to distinguish different shades of blue!

I have been using the other test kits out there for a while and decided to see if the Hanna checkers were worth it.

I LOVE them and wouldn't go back after trying them. The digital readout is easy to get and accurate.

So much easier, don't hesitate to pick up this product today!

Finally an easy to use easy to read phosphate meter that doesn't cost an arm and a leg. I have tried different brands in the past and all the results were very hard to read. This unit reads it in digital versus me trying to read the colors which are usually very faint. I would recommend this Phosphate meter to anyone looking for a simple to use accurate reading.

Wow, this product is outstanding. No more reading shades of blue. It's accurate down to 0.01.

The only complaint I have is that you have a 3 minute time limit to mix the water and get the bubbles out., just to save the battery. The first time I tried this, I didn't make it in time. Be sure to have your reagent packet open and ready to pour. Also, limit yourself to the recommended 1.5 minutes regardless.

I like the Hanna phosphate tester, you will need to be quick adding in your Reagents into your test tube because the monitor will turn off automatically and you will waste Reagent. I had issues with the monitor readings not reading correctly a couple time but overall this is a good tester get it I lover it. Overall the price at BRS is cheaper, the Quality is top of the line they really know there products and there knowledge is sure impressive they do there research too that’s why I love to shop here Shipping is super fast.

I was surprised when the tester arrived there was only enough reagent for 4 tests???
Would have been nice to know that when I got it so I could have ordered more.
there was some plastic ratteling around inside of it and whatever it was fell out while installing the battery. the unit didnt work to find out that the supplied battery was dead.
replaced batter, works like a champ!

Its one of the easiest test kits I have used. It takes 3 minutes and you have a perfect reading. I have used manual test kits but this one can be done over and over with the exact same results.

I wish I had done a bit more research about this before buying it. This Hanna model (HI-713) has an accuracy of +/- .04ppm when target levels for phosphate are usually considered < .02ppm. I would much rather have purchased the HI-736 Phosphorus Ultra Low Range Tester by Hanna. Too bad BRS doesn't stock both and explain clearly the difference between the two.

I've had this for about a year, but only used it about 20 times. It broke due to a manufacturing defect. The Hanna customer service would not stand behind their product. Despite the defect, they indicated warranty was only 6 months and they wouldn't do anything.

Fantastic product, no more trying to compare colors with those horrible color cards. The only down side is the powder reagent, hopefully Hanna will develop a liquid reagent.

The Hanna Checker Phosphate PO4 Colorimeter is very easy to use and only takes a few minutes to make sure that your tank is where it needs to be! I have spent so much money on frags, fish and equipment - the cost of this item is well worth it! Make sure to add the extra packets to sve yourself from running out.
I plan on getting the other Hanna checkers for my tank

This is soooooo much better! I really like the digital readout. The test instructions are very easy to follow.

Be careful opening the test unit for battery installation, make sure to pull the battery door out straight and do not pry it to one side.

Loved this tester. No more other test for me. The digital read out makes it soo much easier. I'm getting the calcium checker for Christmas I liked this one soo much. Thanks for providing a great product. Just read the instructions and maybe review a youtube video on using it. The system has a timeout and you need to complete all the actions within a certain amount of time, but there is enough time if you are prepared.
