BUG would recommend this product to a friend
A cheap, flimsy, warped and very difficult to open case greets you when you first try to access this kit! Kind of like having a cheap and dysfunctional door handle on a fancy new car.... I hope this case is not indicative of the quality of the tester inside! Comes with only 5 tests, so be sure to buy more when you order one of these.
Other than the above, seems to work great and consistent and is easy to use once you free it from the cheapy case...

I hate reading color charts. I never feel like i know for sure what the result is and the time involved sucks. I am a zoology major in college and I bring my checks with my to labs and they professors are even impressed. the liguid reagent is slighty more conveinant than the powder but both are easy to use and the results, well who doe not like looking at a number that is plus or minus a few ppm andknowing for sure what the result is

This product is very simple to use. I love the digital display no more guessing. I recommend it to anyone who needs to test for phosphates. I bought dry rock and wanted to test for leaching phosphates and this little tool made it easy.

First one broke day 1. Top came right off. Replacement arrived worked for 2 tests now it wont turn on. Guess I will have to go for 3rd times a charm. Getting frustrated!

The instructions were confusing the first time I used it, but as soon as I figured it out it became the easiest test ever. I love the fact that it gives you an actual number. No more matching colors. Love it.

I have nothing but good things to say about the Hanna Phosphate checker. For a while, I was using color chart comparison phosphate kits, which is extremely difficult since the shades of blue are so subtle to compare. Added to that, the lowest value it read to was <.25. For delicate sps tanks, less than .25 is not an accurate enough result. This is why the Hanna checker is so nice. It gives decimal values all the way down to .01, rather than a blanket statement of less than .25. Considering the money we spend on our aquariums, phosphate should be measured accurately to ensure animal health. Considering it's only about double what other kits cost, it's a no brainer! Skip the guesswork, and get this checker! It makes testing to much easier. Don't forget to buy the reagents when you buy the kit!

Much better alternative than the salifert or other kits that rely on colors charts. Much more accurate and consistent.
