This is so much better than trying to figure out what shade of blue it is on a color chart.
My only complaint is that it only comes with 6 reagent packets.

For anyone's who's used the 'other' phosphate testing kits, we all know how crazy-difficult it is to read which super-duper light shade of blue the result is to get a phosphate reading -- basically inaccurate/impossible and something I stopped doing often because it was a waste of time. NO MORE! After getting the Hanna phosphate checker, it completely takes the guess work (and eye-straining) out of phosphate testing. I almost feel spoiled having the digital read-out of the phos level after struggling with other test kits for years. This is one of the best and easiest tools, along with a nice refractometer, that I have for my 240g mixed reef. And with this low of a price tag, it's a no-brainer that every aquarium owner should have one.

Don't get me wrong, this thing is easy to use and works great, but it fell apart after the 3rd use. The top detached from the base so now when I use it I have to try and hold the top on so it doesn't fall off. I have tried to contact Hanna about this issue two separate times and have received no response.
It works great and I understand you run into issues with products from time to time, but receiving no response from a manufacturer is unacceptable.

Extremely easy to use! Test kit is simple and accurate. I tested it versus my salifert and red sea kit and the test was on the mark I did not need to look at silly color charts. GREAT PRODUCT. Now if only hanna can make it for other parameters and fix their calcium checker.

Fantastic Checker, really acurate and easy to use. The money seams steep, but the acuracy and ease of use make this a great addition to your phosphate fighting arsinal.

just received the phosphate checker and was skeptical that a colorimeter could be produced for sucha low price. Tested it on three reef tanks and results were zero. Thought the unit was defective, so waited all weekend and tested it on a freshwater planted tank in office. Three minutes later .91 PPM. Like a charm.

This is an affordable and accurate tester for phosphates. Like many, I was tired of trying to match color shades on a card. With Hanna's digital readout, I have confidence that my weekly test can be compared for trends. I also use this for my planted freshwater tanks and will buy Hanna's iron checker in the near future. Good job Hanna!

This Test kit is very nice because you get an accurate digital reading. If you are worried about your phosphate levels and want to make sure you have them under control you need this product. For the price of the test kit I feel like it should of came with more reagents to perfom test. As of now it only comes with 5 so you better buy extra refills. Only other complaint I have it the powder reagents is hard to get into the small vile. I would recomend getting this product with your GFO reactor.

If you are considering running GFO in your tank this is the way to go, This instrument is very precise and accurate. It is much nicer knowing exactly what your PO4 is rather than guessing it is somewhere under .25.
