I've had this skimmer for 2 years! Never has done me wrong! Great skimate. I ve had no issues with pumps, still original clean it every 6 months. it's footprint was the biggest plus for me! This thing takes up no room and performs great! Don't hesitate to pull the trigger!

I've had this skimmer for over a year and it is awesome. It produces some very nasty skimate! I was a bit hesitant on the price and decided to buy it. I'm very glad that i did because it works so well. If you are on the fence then I suggest that you go for it. As far as the pump goes, I have not had any issues from it.

It has super quite operation and was a breeze to dial in. I was hesitant about the price but you definitely get what you pay for, I am aware of possible pump issues but so far so good. It also took up even less room in my sump than i thought it would.

It's expensive, but worth every penny, especially if you have a smaller sump. This guy skims like a champ and is so easy to adjust with the knob. I keep the water level at around 8 inches and have had no problems.

I used to fight my skimmer constantly..but not this one. I've been running the reef octopus for several months and couldn't happier. The valve adjuster makes it super easy to adjust. Another great feature is pump 's location. Having the pump "built-in" to the base freed up a lot of room in my sump. Highly recommended.

I've had this skimmer for approx 6 months and have no problems with it. Break in period took about a week and it has run great ever since. The water in sump be must maintained at a certain level for maximum effectiveness. Get an ATO (automatic top-off) and this will solve that problem.

Have had the skimmer for about one year, but only used it for about 6 months. And I'm on my third pump. Coralvue has been good about replacing them but its just a pain in the butt! Thank goodness the pumps have a 3 year warrenty, something tells me I will need to take advantage of it again in the future. If I was buying a new skimmer today it would not be this one!!! And I would advise anyone else to look at something else.

I have had this skimmer running for a few monthsand it is now producing dark skimmate. It did take a month or so to break in. Small footprint is perfect for tight spaces in th sump.

It works fantastic. The pump is what sold me on this product - it is a bubble blaster non-pinwheel style and it makes much ore of that nice cappuccino froth everyone likes to see. I don't understand why people say it takes weeks to break in a skimmer because I was getting thick froth on this in less than 24 hours. I wish the cup was a little bit bigger. It came with all the accessories you need including silicone air line and a drip line for an overflow bucket (for outside of tank). It feels high quality.

I have been running this skimmer now for 6 months and it is great. Produces a lot of skimmate, is easy to adjust, and quite. It does take about one month of break in to quiet down. I have contacted coralvue for questions and they have been quick to respond.

Super quiet, and makes fantastic foam. Its pretty intuitive to set up, and the tiny footprint is great to leave more room in the sump for a larger refugium.

The other reviews seem to be posted soon after they were purchased, which is likely why they were so positive.

I have had two pumps already fail completely in 9 months. Coralvue claims they have had "few problems" yet for some reason they also say that they are on the "third generattion" of these pumps already, despite the pump be less than a year old. So, two re-designs in less than a year for a pump that supposedly has "few problems?"

I don't think so. The odds of me having two failed pumps (or even one for that matter) if there wasn't a huge problem with the quality are very low. Avoid any of the Bubble Blaster pumps!

This is the 1st skimmer that I have owned so I can’t compare it to others. I can say that it was easy to setup and started to work immediately. It took about 3 weeks for the skimmer to go from making green tea to coffee. For anyone who is new to the hobby like me the actual manufactures website is http://www.coralvue.com. They have lots of helpful information on troubleshooting/setting up your skimmer.

Initially the pump was super loud. I contacted reef octopus and they were helpful in diagnosis. It just takes a little time for the pump to break in before it run quiet.

After the break in period it works like a beast. All you need is a constant water level and it will pull out the gunk like a champ!

If you have a small space this is the skimmer to buy! I'm running it on a 75g with a 20g long sump and it works great, i would say though that its about at its limit, if I would have had the space may have went with the 2000. Just make sure you keep your water level consistant and this skimmer will amaze you with the gunk it pulls out.

I HAVE 4 SKIMMERS AND THIS ONE FITS INTO A SMALL FOOTPRINT BUT STILL GIVES GREAT RESULTS. IF YOUR WATER LEVEL IS CONSTANT YOU CAN EASILY FINE TUNE THIS SKIMMER FOR PERFORMANCE.
