Ok, so a little tricky for me at first dialing this baby in. I had a couple of accidents flooding the cup but this is my first saltwater system and I'm new to all the equipment. Once I found the right setting for my water depth, which is the recommended depth in the instructions I was off. I love it. Its completely silent even when Im right next to it I dont hear it run. The bubbles are beautiful, and the foam I get is full of junk. Easy to clean and compact. I will absolutely use Bubble Magus products again.

had it for a year pump burnt out popped the power and shut down the whole tank.... had to always adjust it to get it to skim right... but when it was running right it worked great ...

When I bought this skimmer I was new to the hobby and couldn't see myself spending a lot of money on a skimmer. Well I was wrong this skimmer does ok but why not spend a 100 to 200 more and get one that actually works I wish I would have taken that advice

I have been using this for one year now on a 100 lightly stocked tank. LPS and softies. It has been making thick skimmate since day one. Every time I have turned it off it fires right back up; no pump issues. I take it apart and clean it about once every two months. It does seem to require a consistent water level to work correctly. Once I dialed it in, it works well.

The skimmer does a very good job at removing waste and produces a ton of bubbles. However it is kind of a pain to clean because you have to completely take it apart.

I have been in the hobby for 1 plus years, but continue to consider myself a rooky. I have a 92 gal. reef tank and replaced my worthless MAR skimmer with the BM-NAC7 about six months ago. My complaint is that I frequently have to change the heighth of the skimmer to make it work. Sometimes I think I have it right, but then I check it after awhile and it is overflowing. At times it doesn't work no matter what number I have it set at. Because it performs inconsistently, there are times I have to shut it off at night or when I am going to be gone, because I have ended up with water overflowing inside as well as outside my aquarium cabinet. When it performs well, I really like the skimmer. However, because I am not a mechanically gifted individual, it becomes very frustrating trying to make the thing work. I know my review is very different than the other folks. So, I would recommend that people considering a purchase of a Bubble Magus give more weight to other reviews. I did my research before buying mine, and I still believe the BM is an excellent protien skimmer.

Bought this skimmer almost 2 years ago right after it came out, and at first i was very impressed. the original meshwheel worked well, but degraded over time and wasnt as consistent as i'd hoped. i have recently upgraded to the pinwheel impeller and now it skims like nobody's business. easy to adjust and very compact. the only complaint is that it needs a larger collection cup, it gets old emptying it every few days

Great value but you get what you pay for. My pump failed after 5 months. The replacement was covered under the warranty, but I found that the pump is very hard to find. The only place that carries the replacement pump is the US Bubble Magus distributor. Great product if you are on a budget. Other then the pump issue I am happy with it.

I bought this as part of a tank upgrade I did a couple months ago. I had a reef octopus skimmer on the old system. I have to say that I like this skimmer much more. It's quieter and pulls all kinds of skimmate out of my tank. Highly recommended!!

The skimmer runs super quiet and is very easy to tune. I agree that the instructions are mostly useless. Very easy to clean as well. Leaves little to be desired. Very happy with this purchase!

I am using this skimmer on my 90gal mixed reef and could not be happier with the results. It pulls a lot of junk out of my tank.

The build quality of the skimmer seems good, and the pump is incredibly quiet. The skimmer is also easy to adjust by turning the blue tube attached to the side of it.

The instructions included with the unit are absolutely terrible, as with all Bubble Magus products. Youtube videos would be your best bet for installation if you need guidance.

BM lives up to its reputation for quality products at a good price with this skimmer. I would definitely recommend it.

The skimmer itself gets a 2 thumbs up but the installation instructions are a joke; it's obvious that the person that wrote it was Korean and used a Korean-American dictionary when they wrote it. Terrible directions;I had to go to You Tube and look at the videos they were so bad. I really suggest that BRS put out an installation video for us plug n play types.

This skimmer is honestly top of the line I've had it running for around 3 day's now on my heavily stocked reef, and it's pulling out the thickest skimmate I've ever seen my collection cup is almost half way filled with green sludge I'm going to have to start using a milk jug to collect the skimmate or order myself a Davey Jones Locker. Installation was a breeze had it up and running in less than 15 mins. Bulkreefsupply had to send me a replacement because the first nac-7 they sent me had a defective pump, but they where really good about replacing it this is my favorite company to order anything from and Lu in customer services rocks that kid has patients and is very knowladgeble. Overall I reccomend this to anyone looking to have a healthy clean tank!

I bought this skimmer about a year ago. It out performs the Tunze DOC-10 and the ETSS-600 that I had before the NAC-7. The only recommendation I would have is to throw away the meshwheel and stick with a needlewheel impellor. I went through 3-4 broken meshwheels and a pump due to restart issues before switching back to a needlewheel. I still get great skimmate with the needlewheel, never have a restart issue and this skimmer is so quiet, I forget it's running.

I have a 90 gallon DT with a 30 gallon sump. I replaced my Coralife 125 with this skimmer and I’m glad I did. This thing skims like a beast at an affordable price.
