Purchased this to use for water changes and as a main thermometer in my tank. (The long cord makes it super easy to move from my tank to the new water.) It matched up with my old thermometer's read out so I trust that it is right. It's nice to have big numbers that are easy to read.
As someone else mentioned a backlight feature that could be turned on or off would be nice.

I had a rash of bad heaters and needed a second probe too confirm accuracy and steady temp. Works perfect.

I wanted a digital thermometer with a nice sized LCD display so that I could quickly glance over and see the temperature, and this works nicely.

My thermometer consistently reads 4 degrees higher than my actual water temp. My heaters are set to 78 degrees and I've verified that other thermometers read the temperature at 78. However this JBJ thermometer reads at 82.1.

I think I have been through 5 of these within a few years. I have one that does not work anymore and 2 that are about 10 degrees off. It seems to lose its calibration and there is no way to reset them. I think I will try another brand for my next thermometer. It was great when it work correctly and a good price. I just wish the usable life lasted a little longer.

i use two of these on my tank and they are always within .2 points of each other. have had the batteries in it that it came with for 10 months, recommend this to everyone.

I primarily use this to monitor the temperature in my 90 gallon display tank to make sure that my lights aren't heating up the water too much. It works very well, and for the price I don't think you can beat it. I also pull it out of the DT and use it to check the temperature of my replacement water when doing water changes. It has a great double suction cup mount that allows you to quickly and easily detach the digital readout. I like that a lot because I have it mounted to the back of my tank glass so it's out of sight but I can still detach it and read it with no problem. If you don't have a thermometer yet for your tank, do yourself a favor and pick one of these up.

I keep one of these in my sump as a check against my controller temp sensors, and have another for mixing water. I'm ordering a third for my QT.
Would only be better with a backlight.
