No magnets By David on 4/5/12

Just received a 500 watt and contrary to the advertisement and photos on this site, the heater and probe mounts are suction cups. I feel lied to and ripped off. Waiting for a response to resolve with BRS

After running two 300 watt unit for a year both have failed. Sent an email to JBJ to see what they have to say. Both unit show temp 87 but the water was in the low 70's. Save you tank and do not buy this heater. Changed the parts around same issue.
SAVE YOUR TANK and DO NOT BUY THIS.

Love that this heater has a temperature probe that you can locate 5 feet from the heater for a more accurate reading of your tanks temperature.

1 out of three heaters fail By woodapple on 1/12/12

I have three of the heaters and the one on the main display is the one that fails of course. I do not have a system that will alarm if teh temp fails so I was putting too much faith in the unit. Recommend you get a contorler with an alarm. It did work for 1 year.... Now I am getting DA reef keeper.....

Good product, room for improvement By Bud on 8/17/11

Great product, works well, vast improvement over glass heaters with suction cups with totally suck.
Some things I would have improved on: The sleeve tends to trap waste. Not much way around this. Also I think I'm going to break the thing whenever I try to take it apart, snaps together weird, and if you slide it off the rubber cap on the end of the heater pops off (not siliconed on well) but doesn't affect function. I also wish it had an adjustable range setting instead of +/- 1F. Yeah it doesn't cycle on and off a lot, but I would prefer to see a tighter range option. It's just programming, I don't know why they didn't do that.

Great Aquarium Heater By Shannon on 8/4/11

These heaters are reliable and built to last. I have yet to have a problem with the design. While they are pricy they are well worth it in the long run. Can't tell you how many others I've been through.

lasted 4 weeks By Steven on 6/9/11

great idea if it would last. I have had mine for 4 weeks now. Stuck my hand in the sump to change a sock and got zapped. I quickly unplugged my profilux to shut down everything and started checking each device one by one. The heater. I checked warranty card to see you only have 14 days to fill out. live and learn. Save your money.

Got this for a week now and my water temp help steady at 80 deg. The box too nice...Need to spend that money on the magnet holder. Should re-design the sleve so that the magnet stay on it. Send me a free new sleve when you get it re-desing.

Solid product By steve on 4/19/11

Worth the extra dollars for the peace of mind. Has a -1 to +1 degree threshold. Working flawlessly so far.
The magnet clips are strong but where they attach to the plastic heater shroud could use some design improvement.
