Doesn't fulfill it's promise By Drt on 10/30/2015

It sits too high up and doesn't fit on a standard rim. Furthermore, they're simply basic computer fans. Definitely overpriced.
Cool Fans By Speed on 10/9/2015

The Tunze Fans are very well built, low profile, & really quiet fans. I purchased 2 of them for my 180 gallon Saltwater Reef Tank, but I'm considering adding another due to the fact that I have a Canopy on my Tank. These fans work so far in this Florida weather, where everyday feels like it's summer.

I purchased the Tunze Fans for my 180 gallon Saltwater Reef Tank & these are what they are! They are very Sleek & add a very clean look to the Tank. These fans work, they're really quiet, I originally purchased 2 for my Tank but I'm thinking of add 1 more because I have a Canopy on my Tank so I do really get the help from my Central A/C blowing across the Tank. They do help keep the Temp regular, they are a little on the pricey side but if you want to keep that clean look then they look a lot better than the Clip on Fans.
OK it's not a chiller! By KerryF on 9/19/2015

This little fan is a nice inexpensive option to a full blown chiller. It will not cool a huge heat load but if you need a few degrees drop over a few hours in the summer then it's a good option. It's a fan and all fans make some noise. No temp control so you'll need one. I use my Apex to control it and I can log the output to see it cycling on and off about every 30 minutes on a hot day. You'll have to figure out if it will handle your cooling requirements in place of a chiller...it did for me this summer.

Nice little fan, small and out of the way. I like the mounting. Used this to replace a conventional clip on desk fan. Very quiet and cools better probably because it focuses the air flow across the top of the water. Have it controlled by my Apex so I like the little lights letting me know when it's on.
Great Fan By David on 5/27/2015

Bought the fan to help out on those warmer days. Fan has a flat profile. Convenient mounting bracket. Produces a nice laminar flow. Very quiet. Attached to 120 gallon display tank, air flow is across the length direction. Connected to a controller that turns on upon reaching the upper temperature limit. The fan is does not drop the temperature in the tank immediately but does prevent the temperature from rising more. With the fan, I now longer see a plus 4 degree rise that I was getting without the fan. I am considering buying another unit and mounting the 2 fans across the width of the tank.
Small but noisy By Steven on 2/3/2015

It sure makes a racket for such a little fan. Do not know if this normal. But its not like I have not asked. Moves the air pretty good. Should have bought the Air King fan. I feel like I wasted 80 bucks really.

I was worried about having to buy a chiller. This product is great!
It's running on my Apex and keeps my tank temp exactly at 79.5 degrees. My house is air conditioned, which helps.

Does a nice job. Brought my temps down consistently 2-3 def F, as any fan would. Nice, compact, looks good, and works well.
Underwhelmed By Tred on 2/23/2012

I purchased one of these through a LFS and was excited to see how it would perform. I am sorry to report that I was very underwhelmed at the small amount of air that the fans move. I understand that they are supposed to be a quiet solution, but maybe a little more investment in better fans and less in LED lights that most of us in the hobby really wont appreciate. And it really doesn't need the 2 speed switch on there. My unit will be going on my BC29 controlled by my RKL and I will have no reason to be fiddling with a speed switch.
All in all it is a well build unit, and it lives up to the claim, it is low-profile and quiet. Once summer is here in Oregon then I will know how it does with evaporation cooling.
