ReefKeeper Float Switch Bracket Kit - Digital Aquatics

  • NO BRAINER! By Christopher on 4/19/13

THIS FLOAT SWITCH MAKES AUTO TOP OFF A BREEZE! only problem i had was with the bracket but worth the money.
  • Awesome mounting bracket, average float By Kevin on 4/18/13

The mounting bracket is what really makes this kit. If you don't have a built in place for mounting your float switches this is a must have! I only have 2 knock's against the kit. First the "clamp" that clamps onto the sump to hold it in place doesn't close tight enough to hold onto my rimless acrylic sump. Second over time it becomes impossible to turn the adjustment screw's without a long soak in vinegar.
  • Not impressed By Christopher on 4/1/13

As stated in the other reviews the bracket design is not worth the money you pay for this kit. The craftsmanship is very low. The screw threads in bracket are not straight on one and this causes the screw to tighten at an angle and they do not fully tighten so you have to be real careful because one little bump will knock these things side ways. This bracket is also made for rimless sumps so be prepared to drop some more green backs on a 1 inch thick piece of acrylic by how ever long you need to be able to utilize these on a rimmed sump. I would only recommend this product if you have no other choices. Or you are in a pinch.
  • Horrible Design By Tony on 3/28/13

The switches work fine, but the bracket is less than ideal. Lets start with the holes. They are drilled at almost the same size as the threads, so there is no "bite" from the screws. Out of 4 screws on two brackets, only ONE was able to tighten up.

As stated in other reviews, the long screw is not long enough for 3/16" sided sumps. You have to add a separate piece to take up the space. And again, the threads are non existent and the screw strips way too easy.

Worst purchase I have made from BRS! I will NEVER buy another one, I will build them myself instead of taking the easy way out.
  • Float switch problems By Migity1 on 1/17/13

I was really disappointed with this float switch....
First my sump is rimless, so the screw to tighten it down is to short. Second, no matter how I assemble the bracket the floats are not adjustable to my water level. Also one of the locking screws won't tighten. And lastly, there is no snail/weed guard. (Didn't like soldering new plugs on the wires either.)
  • Perfection of ease By Scott on 1/7/13

This was hands down the easiest upgrade I have done to my tank. Within 15mins of opening the box I had a functioning ATO. Very good product!!
  • No instructions, but that's ok. By Andrew on 9/13/12

A bit of a pain to put together, since there are no instructions. However, I found a video of someone assembling it. The still picture on the site works well too--just something to figure out how the pieces of plastic fit together. The business end works well, and I haven't had any problems with salt creep causing the switch to fail, as one reviewer mentioned. I did solder mine to the wire harness and used some shrink tubing around it. Make sure whatever connection you use is waterproof.
  • Much easier By steve on 9/9/12

Brought this for my rkl 2 and it's awesome
. Much easier then me always having to add the water. BRS is the best
  • good By evan on 9/9/12

works well, but the float can fail with salt buildup
  • Adjustable and Sturdy By Timothy on 8/27/12

Have this setup and working great with my Apex (Its a float switch... you can use it with any controller).

Only thing I don't like is that the set screw meant to mount it securely against the sump is too short. An extra scrap piece of acrylic fixed that issue. I'd buy again in a heartbeat
