  • Hydor Evolution 1500 pumps By on 9/20/2014

You eventually (in weeks) get a algae bloom and have to run them on a wave maker. I was successful with 1500's, many of them, dual bottom/back,left and right, on outlets 3 and 4, and another two on outlets 1 and 2 on a Wave Master Pro from Red Sea. Calm, or sleep mode in turbulent mode are slow enough so the clicks on start up are not constant. This also seems to clean pumps which will otherwise grow and spread nuisance algae.
  • This "1650 Magnum D/C pump" or a 1500 evolution on wavemaker By on 9/4/2014

In order to create colliding linear flow you need a wave maker and enough flow to keep on nutrients in flight until they are removed by a skimmer or mechanical filtration. The 1500 evolution was supposed to solve the problems with the 1400, they still click, This pump one failed to start on a wave maker and would just make a different noise than the click of a 1500 for ten seconds, The other the black color and rubber disappeared and a piece of rubber is probably in my bubble blaster pump for my reef octopus skimmer. Initially compared to a power head because it is a circulation pump you are impressed, than it becomes low quality throw away pumps like Maxi jet, but these run terrible on wave makers required for the "perfect" environment for corals or just coralline algae for the bright colors.
  • Great Product By on 7/16/2013

Moves alot of water; for my reef fish display tank

I picked it to add alittle more water movement

only down side it is a bit bulk

  • Whoa...thats a lotta flow By on 3/23/2013

I didn't realize how much water it really moved til I had to take the Sargassum out of my refugium and put it in the DT. I'm impressed.

all i can say is WOW this pump push's a ton of water in my tank. It sure keeps my tank sturred up. I love this in my reef/fish system.
  • Bulky but good By on 4/6/2012

This is a good "little" power head. Quite and moves a lot of water. The only negative is it is rather bulky and a little unsightly in the tank. But not as unsightly as a algae outbreak.
  • great pump By on 2/7/2012

i love the koralia pumps,i have 2 of them and I plan on replacing all my others with them.they are quiet, powerfull and my favorit part is the stay on the glass unlike other power heads that fall off all the time blasting my sand all over
