BRS GFO high capacity works great on my tank. Nuisance algae is gone since I'm using this brand with BRS dual reactor. Just follow the recommended dosage and you're good to go.

Worth the money, works incredibly well By Amy on 11/10/2015

Bought this product to help 'rehab' a neglected tank. Phosphates were through the roof, too high to register with our Hanna checker (over 2.50ppm). Added HC GFO to a BRS dual reactor and saw IMMEDIATE results. Within 72 hours phosphate levels were well below 0.5ppm and still falling.
Needs no real rinsing, just let the first little bit of water that leaves the reactor flow through some floss and a filter sock, to collect the fines (or discard the water). Tumbles beautifully in a reactor, we've had no issues whatsoever with clumping or pieces breaking down into fines.
Lastly, when compared to regular GFO, this stuff is denser; at first glance it looks WAY more expensive, but compared by weight it's not a huge difference and it's worth it. We use regular GFO for maintaining non-problem tanks, but if you have a high-load tank, you're dealing with a major phosphate issue, repairing long-term neglect, it's worth laying out the cash for this stuff -- it's not a gimmick, it definitely works more intensely than the standard GFO.

No clumping, huge capacity, easy to work with, and keeps my phosphates in check like nothing else I've ever used. I really can't say enough about this product other than it is the best I've ever found. Period.

Works as advertised By Mrod on 7/28/2015

Very satisfied as it works as others have mentioned. My Phosphates were always a struggle with a nano tank and no skimmer - this is the first media to actually make a noticeable difference,
Gradually coming down each week and happy with the results thus far!
Excellent GFO! By Pegasus on 7/27/2015

I started with BRS HC GFO, and if the day comes, I will end with it as well. Rinses clean almost immediately, and does an outstanding job of removing PO4. Levels stay near-undetectable, even with my heavy feeding habit. IMO, it's worth the extra cost to not change it as often. 15% water changes every two months of so, and my fish and corals are thriving! Highly recommended product!!!
Great phosphate remover! By Ae86oni on 7/22/2015

Good quality gfo! Does exactly what it's supposed to do. Keeps my phosphates in check. I did have 1 issue at first, but it was my fault. I was having an issue with it clumping together in less than a week, even though it got plenty of flow. After tons of research, I found out that having a low magnesium level will cause this to happen. Another tell tale sign of low magnesium is your pumps quickly getting covered in a calcium deposit. If you run a gfo reactor, make sure your magnesium level is in check. Will solve the problem!
Good GFO just very Expensive By Christopher on 7/15/2015

I bought this GFO when i first started reef keeping. Keep phosphates at 0 always. However, it was a really cost to buy this. So I switched to RowaPhos, still good. But now have a small algae outbreak.. thinking about switch back! This GFO is amazing if you can afford!
Seems pretty great By Damon on 6/10/2015

Virtually no dust so rinsing is quite fast. Fluidizes very well and doesn't seem to break down like RowaPhos... Also seems to pull a bit more phos compared to RowaPhos but not sure if this is fact or perception. Overall, I like it!
