This gate valve is a little more expensive than the economy gate valve but to have the ability to take it appart and clean it will make it last that much longer. Gate opens and closes very easily as well. Ditch the cheap SCH 40 ball valves and install one of these.

This thing is built like a tank, and probably about as big and heavy as one too. Works well, but make sure you can support it properly or it may put too much pressure on other fittings or bulkheads.
