Ratchet Clamp for Tubing

  • hard to find correct sizes By Jim on 10/22/2014

Purchased hoping it would work on 1-1/4 inch tubing, but too large even when fully closed
  • Secure clamp, good quality By Shaun on 7/9/2014

Used to secure vinyl tubing to the output barb on a couple of return pumps. (I use vinyl tube between pump and pvc plumbing to make it easy to disconnect and clean pump.) Clamps securely with no leaks and hasn't failed in the 7 months I have been using them. These are not available at my local hardware stores.
  • Nice Fit, No Leak By Marc on 6/9/2014

I used the 1 inch clamp with 1 inch soft silicone tubing and a 1 inch schedule 40 PVC barb adapter. I used channel lock pliers to ratchet the clamp to a nice snug fit with no leaks. I'm very happy with this product.
  • Good quality but still have not found a use By Justin on 5/27/2014

I bought both the 1/2" and the 3/4" versions. I found them to be very durably made, good quality, but I have yet to find a hose combination and barb in which they fit.
  • Good quality clamp for In sump use By Mike on 3/22/2014

Really impressed didn't think it would get tight but it did! Impressive
  • Some problems By Scott on 7/15/2013

3/4" will not allow full clamp down unless you use a shim of some kind and very hard to separate. Even with all that still safest material to use in my aquarium.
  • quick and easy! By James on 3/25/2013

These work for now, but I ordered both 1 and 3/4 inch sizes for my sump, they are holding water with no leaks, but long term I may need to find another style
  • Does not fit 1/2 tubing By Rob on 3/25/2013

These clamps were too big to cinch tightly over my 1/2 ID aquarium tube.
  • seems like they should work well By Brad on 1/23/2013

I dont have water in the system yet, but they should work well. The only problem is, is that you need the next size up for whatever hose your using. Either that or BRS sent me the wrong ones. I have a 1" drain and a 3/4" return. So I ordered the 1" and 3/4" braided nylon tubing as well as the 1" and 3/4" clamps. I had to use the supposed 1" clamp for the 3/4" tubing. Im going to contact BRS tomorrow about this as they might already be closed. But i definitely recommend on buying a variety of sizes to be sure you have the right ones. But these should work just fine and not cause leaks like vanisher says he had a problem with. If you cant get them quite tight enough by hand just use some pliers to get a few more clicks on it. Dont squeeze too hard or yes you can break them as they are just plastic. But theres no reason they can make a good seal, or your have pressure thats more than what you should even be having in the lines.
  • Not that great By vanisher on 9/14/2012

I love BRS, and their recommendations are 99.999% spot on, but these I have to disagree with.

Yes, I agree plastic (pvc, abs, bla bla) is better than metal for reefing.

However, these couldn't get a tight clamp for the life of them.

I used the screw tighten metal ones, and guess what, the leaks stopped.

I guess I'll be replacing the metal ones every now and then. For now I get to return these.
