    I switched skimmer and went from a SWC160 to Reef Octopus NWB200, I've had it 3 days now and its nowhere near as quiet as my old, still hasn't had a chance though to break in which they say in the instructions could take 3-4 week, Thats a long time for a skimmer to break in ,I have to say after the 3 days Im starting to see foam,that being said its been 3 days of not exporting nutrients.I hear a hum from it and I should of went with one that had a better pump.I will give it time to see if it quiets down and i will update this in a couple weeks

    I love the skimmer it's an easy set up and completely does the job well above the needs of my tank. But the problem I have found with this set up is within two months I have had to get warranty replacement for two different pinwheel shafts for the magnet portion of the pump the second of which broke in the exact same spot within two seconds of install.

    This skimmer is simply amazing. Extremely easy setup, thorough directions, and overall built very well. A very short break in period and once that was done it was running circles around my old skimmer! If i ever set up another reef tank, Reef Octopus will be my first choice!

    Just received it today. Packaging was great, lots of green foam things. It did look like the picture only better. The collection cup is red, love it. Also, this thing is a monster, it will take up your stand!

    I own 2 of these skimmers. They work great easy to clean. Break in period was short compared to some other skimmers I have used. I liked the first one that I bought another for my other tank setup. Never had any issues with either of them and they pull allot of junk from the water.

    This skimmer pulls out grime and sludge better than any skimmer i had in the past. Although it takes up a lot of room in the sump, my tank would not be the same without it. great skimmer. you wont be sorry after getting this big boy.

    I love how easy the skimmer is to operate. The cup is easily removed for cleaning, making for a more efficient job. The best purchase I've made in the saltwater hobby so far.

    This is a really amazing skimmer, good bang for your buck.. Very efficient. does not come with the typical noise diffuser or the gate valve for the water level adjustment as shown in the picture. Instead it comes with a sort of new 2 in 1 kinda deal where you turn a piece of pvc and it opens/closes a space inside of the water return part of the skimmer adjusting your water height inside the skimmer. The air intake hose also attaches to this and itself acts as the noise diffuser.
