I set up a 90gal salt tank, and purchased 2 of these powerheads. I have 1/2" thick glass and the magnets work perfect. As a note I tried to set the powerheads up on the glass without water in the tank and the magnets wouldn't work properly but I waited till tank was full and they both work like a champ(they must use the water suction to partially hold the weight). I am currently cycling the tank and I used carib sea arag alive Fuji mix(fine grain) these powerheads do blow the fine sand around, so I am going to add a few bags of the arag alive Florida coral (large pieces) to hopefully combat the sand movement. Only thing I wish the manufacturer would invent is Bluetooth on the outside the glass magnet, where I could connect using a smartphone and change the flow rate and/or move the powerhead, save us from getting arms wet.
