Great product By BG on 5/4/13
BG would recommend this product to a friendHave used product for years, does a great job of moving water in my 135 and 95 gallon tanks. BRS pricing is great and selection of products offered is great. -
Not enough power/flow for a betta fish cup By Jeff on 5/3/13
Jeff wouldn't recommend this product to a friendI purchased two of these so I can use the wave maker setting on my new reef keeper lite as it was a recommendation from BRS and I couldn't be more unhappy with them. They click to loud for my liking so I can only imagine the fish inside and they just don't have any flow to them. Sure if you stick your hand on the cage in front of them you can feel it but a few inches away they have nothing that you feel. I have them in a 29 gallon tank so I am sure that the recommendation came from simple mathematics but I am using them and one is sitting in a box as I grabbed an old one I had until I can buy new ones.
Please don't see this as a stab at BRS. They are the greatest people, great products and timely delivery. I have since purchased from them and continue to do so. Hydor has over rated their product -

Kyle would recommend this product to a friendthis is the quietest circulation pump I've ever had it is near silent and I mean near silent. -
Hydor 1500 evo. pump By Doel on 4/25/13
Doel would recommend this product to a friendEverytime mine turns on it makes a bad grinding noise. It's done it since the first time it came on, I thought that was the point of the evolution line. I do have a 750 thats quit though. -
Great pumps for the Money By Brandon on 4/9/13
Brandon would recommend this product to a friendYou can't beat these pumps for the money. I would like to have to Eco Techs but I just can't part with the cash yet. One day I will then use these in another tank or in my RO/DI reservoir. Work great for now the fish love the current they create and they are whisper quite -
Great Pump! By Chris on 3/26/13
Chris would recommend this product to a friendFar superior to the maxi-jets I had in their before. Bought the 740 evo's for my 55g. Near silent, magnet mounts are incredibly better than suction cups and the indirect flow is nice. This will be the only pump I use from now on -
Great powerheads By Devin on 3/2/13

Top Product out there for the price By Andy on 2/25/13
Andy would recommend this product to a friendI had really junky powerheads from my LFS. Then I bought these, the 1400 model, along with the HYDOR wave Controller. They are great. I like them so much I am buying the Nano versions for my nano tank. The only reason I give them a 4 instead of a 5 is because they don't have the mechanism living outside of the tank so you still have that ugly powercord going into your tank. Other than that, They are perfect. -
Great power head for the price! By Jeremy on 2/15/13
Jeremy would recommend this product to a friendI use 2 of the 1050's in my 75g mixed tank. They look good on the sides of the tank and are able to to be angled in any direction. They function well and make no noise! (I do not run these on a wave maker though). The flow is strong and blows the brine shrimp I feed all over the tank and keep them suspended for several minutes. I love the really strong magnets and never had one move or fall off, and it is because of these. -

Hello. Hope you are doing well. To use Hydor Koralia, I need drill a hole in my tank?
Bulk Reef Supply Hey Tai,
No hole is necessary, it connects via magnets on the inside/outisde of the glass and the power cord just goes out the top of the tank. -

Are the koralia evo powerheads for use as a 115vac wall plug outlett or do they need a controler.?
Bulk Reef Supply Hey Tim,
The Koralia Evolution pumps are a standard AC pump. Regular two prong power plug and no controller required! -

If I want 2+ of these in a 90g reef aquarium (48x24x18) without a wave maker, what combination would be my best option for mixed coral? Additionally my return pump puts out around 750gph (950gph w/ a ball valve) and the output has a hydor rotating deflector on it.
Bulk Reef Supply Hey Ryan,
The exact setup obviously depends on a variety of factors such as live stock, placement, rockwork, etc but as a whole I think that combined with the flow from your return pump, a pair of the evolution 1050's should be plenty good for a tank your size :-)
Hydor Koralia Evolution submersible powerheads are a popular choice because they are affordable and reliable high flow powerheads. Upgraded, shaft-less impeller boasts unique design for wide and gentle water flow beneficial to aquarium inhabitants. Patented magnetic base with articulating ball joint allows full, 360-degree range of convenient pump positions. Direct vital water movement to areas of your aquarium never possible with conventional powerheads.
High flow is very important to maintaining a thriving healthy aquarium. Aquariums with poor flow can experience a number of easily avoidable health issues. Using high flow powerheads in your aquarium will:
- Significantly decrease the risk of algae outbreaks.
- Keep waste and particles suspended longer so skimmers and filters have a better chance of removing them.
- Prevent toxic pockets from forming in hard to reach areas.
- Keep debris from collecting on corals.
- Keep food suspended longer so you can add less food.
- Increase the chances of long term healthy tank success.
