I'm from England and ordered a bottle online however I belive I may have been miss sold.
Does Dino x smell at all as my product could quite easily contain water it just doesn't smell of anything chemical related at all.
Just concerned about dosing something that I think maybe a con
Thanks for taking the time to read this
No need for panic, the Dino X is very neutral in odor, and even though there isn't a "chemical smell" to it, there is active ingredient :)
This will work at helping to remove all algae in the aquarium! Feel free to let us know if you have any further questions!
This will have an impact on Bubble algae however for best control manual removal while siphoning the water will help to remove the spores and keep the algae from spreading. In smaller cases often times Emerald Crabs will do a great job at controlling the levels. Feel free to let us know if you have any further questions!
The 5 mL dosage will be perfect. Feel free to let us know if you have any further questions!
We have heard of it running in Zeovit with no major side effects. Feel free to let us know if you have any further questions.
This product is reef safe and under recommended dosage will not have a negative impact on corals, inverts or fish.
This can work in reef systems with SPS coral. You will want to observe for signs of stress when dosing. Feel free to let us know if you have any further questions!
Dino X will have a negative impact on all algae in the aquarium and the refugium and macro algae should be disconnected from the system before dosing. Feel free to let us know if you have any further questions!
Great question, For this product you will dose 5 mL per 26 gallons. On average tank of 75 Gallons you will need 15 mL every 2 days. This product will do a great job at reducing the growth of the hair algae however the dead and extra algae present will need to be manually removed. Feel free to let us know if you have any further questions!
Manufacturer's Recommended Dosing:
5 mL of DINO X for 26 gallons(100 L) - every 2 days
DO NOT OVERDOSE - measure liters or gallons exactly.
Dose every 2 days until the algae is gone but not more than 21 days at a time.
Works Great! By T-Remp on 8/21/2016T-Remp wouldn't recommend this product to a friendPersonally this product worked for me. I have a 65 gallon mixed reef that developed a pretty good Dino and Hair algae problem. I put two cap fulls of Dino X in every evening for a week, turned carbon reactor off and only turned my light on every other day. Before doing my daily dose, I always look at my coral and fish for signs of effects and saw zero. One week later most to all algae is gone. Great product if done correctly with a little thought.
It works By Nox on 6/28/2016Nox would recommend this product to a friendReading a couple of reviews here about corals getting bleached when using Dino-X. Dinoflagellates is a type of zooxanthellae. Zooxanthellae is what gives coral its color. Dino-X is made to get rid of Dino, but if one doesnt calculate their water volume and end up over dosing , it will absolutely bleach coral. Rookie mistakes.
but if dosage is correctly calculated, and instructions are followed. Dino-X will be effective against common forms of Dinoflagellates. Sometimes it might take 2 rounds of 21 days each but it does work.
doesn't work By vince` on 6/23/2016vince` wouldn't recommend this product to a friendAfter dosing during 1 week my SPS corals started to bleach, and finally died. I do not recommend this product
Didn't work By Jeff on 6/20/2016Jeff wouldn't recommend this product to a friendDoesn't work at all

Dinoflagellates extinct By Littleman on 5/7/2016Littleman would recommend this product to a friendDino x got rid of my dino in 6 doses before dino x i used h2o2 dinoflagellates just kept coming back. I will use nothing else from now on with cyno or any other algae problem. Great stuff!!!.
Worked as described By Rcook on 4/30/2016Rcook would recommend this product to a friendNo more dino! Paired this with a UV, blackout. I no longer have dino in my tank at all 2 weeks after I stopped. I did not have a bad dino outbreak at all just on the sand mostly. At first it looked like this product was accelerating the growth of the dino but 6 days after the first dose it was almost all gone. I had to do 8 doses, 2 extra than I probably needed but I am so happy this worked for me!
Killed SPS By Jeffrey on 2/20/2016Jeffrey wouldn't recommend this product to a friendI used this product for 21 days. It reduced the Dino but did not eliminate it. In the process I lost three Montipora and two Acropora and one Acropora is struggling. LPS are fine and Zoo's are a little unhappy. If you have an LPS only tank give it a try.
I'm currently dosing hydrogen peroxide with great success. Dino almost gone. Research first before using this method. 1ml per 10 gallons.
Definitely Helps! By Rob on 1/9/2016Rob would recommend this product to a friendI give 3 stars because I still have some dino, not bad but they are there. I kept lights on same routine and ran skimmer but did cut back on feeding the fish. I have some die back on sps however the peppermint shrimp and some sponges are doing ok as well as anemones. I may up my dosage, doing 2 mil per gallon of water. Also due to not understanding the instructions I dosed every day instead of every 2 days. So I started dosing hydrogen peroxide every other day.
Kills Dinos....and other things By TrevorM on 1/2/2016TrevorM would recommend this product to a friendI rarely post reviews of products, but I thought this one deserved it. I've been battling dinos for months, and have tried all sorts of natural treatments only to find them coming back stronger than ever.
Bottom line: this product works. You MUST ensure not to overdose, and be careful with certain sensitive animals like anemones (I should have heeded the warning and moved my to a QT). I lost a few SPS because I was aggressive with the dosing....this stuff kills a lot of good stuff along with the bad, so you need to take that into consideration. Ultimately, however, the dinos are gone, and my tank is thriving like never before with the proper balance of algae and bacteria.
killed my Tangs By peter on 12/19/2015peter wouldn't recommend this product to a friendI brought Dino x and after 3 doses done exactly as instructions i lost 2 Tangs and a Algae blenny advised its most likely algae toxins realeased in the water from use off product.
Nothing about this on the instructions be careful if using this product.
This stuff is bad news! By DivingTheWorld on 9/13/2015DivingTheWorld wouldn't recommend this product to a friendI need to make it clear, my tank did not have an issue with Dinos. I started dosing this product to take care of Bryopsis which it clearly states it works for.
I reduced my lighting period and removed carbon and polyfilters per instructions. I dosed 17ml every other day for 89g water volume which is the recommended dosage. With the exception of the Bryopsis, my tank was in excellent condition, fish and corals looking great.
After 2 weeks of usage, my Bryopsis has not changed at all. What has changed is both of my cleaner shrimp which I've had over a year died. Also, a newly added Sea Hare died. Then one of my nice paired up Bangaii went carpet surfing. Over the course of the 2 weeks I have lost three of my sps and most of my others are bleaching out and losing color. A couple more are starting to STN.
Since the only change I made is dosing this product, I can only conclude this it is this product poisoning my tank. After these two weeks I have stopped dosing, re-added polyfilter and carbon and I plan to do a water change. Hopefully I'll get my tank back to looking nice, despite the Bryopsis.
