AMAZING By JOE on 9/14/2014JOE would recommend this product to a friendReplaced my kessil A360we with this setup and man I'm loving it a bunch!! I had no issues with the kessils they just weren't as bright as i thought they should have been, had great growth with them as well, but was really wanting something brighter and more color options and ill tell you this light is amazing i went back and forth contemplating on getting these before the kessils and i really wish id bought them sooner but hey least i have a back up light system lol.
The Best By Jason on 8/31/2014Jason would recommend this product to a friendMy tank looks awesome with these lights. Its so easy to use with the Reeflink system. Right at my finger tips, such a great system. I have the app on my phone i can control my tank from anywhere.
Simply f$%(ing awesome!!!!!
Poor Growth compared to Metal Halides By Mitch Wilmer on 8/7/2014Mitch Wilmer wouldn't recommend this product to a friendI switched my metal halides out for Ecotech Radion's and after a full year of use, I switched back to using metal halides.
To me, there is no comparison. Using metal halides definitely gives me much better coral growth versus Radions. As for less energy use using LEDs - my heater was on almost always when I used LEDs.
After 8 years in this hobby, I don't think anything comes close to metal halides for reef tank lighting.
Nice program and quality material. By Patrick Consorte on 7/1/2014Patrick Consorte would recommend this product to a friendA real good light for your reef.
Make sure to use the aclimation mode ont the ecosmart live :)
love the lights By Mario on 6/9/2014Mario would recommend this product to a friendWas looking at upgrading from metal halides to leds. From reading other reviews I decided to take the plunge. I couldn't be happier with the difference these lights made. Love how my corals color pop from these lights. Connecting them wireless took me a minute but once I figured it out. Wow! The endless flexibility on programming is amazing. The only negative I have is the high cost per fixture.
Feature Rich, Wallet Heavy By Bryan on 5/22/2014Bryan would recommend this product to a friendThe EcoTech Radion XR30w G3 PRO does it's intended purpose without the slightest gripe and performance issue in lighting and PAR. The ability to set and forget is not something to be taken for granted in day when we had rows upon rows of timers and relays. Lights seamlessly sync with another and the light is cool and not overly harsh unlike Metal Halides or even T5's.
Support- As with all Ecotech Products the support is beyond excellent. The only way they can make it better is coming in person to pick up the defective unit and give me a foot massage. I had a small issue with the GFI acting up on the variable voltage driver that was promptly replaced by Ecotech with almost unreal swiftness and efficiency in inventory. Hopefully I don't need to move to Europe in the near future if should bring my Ecotech overseas to a higher supply voltage.
-Hanging/mounting solutions- EcoTech is really pushing the topless/canopy less tank design and I take it this going to be the new norm in all aquariums, just as having tower PC's is now the norm in enthusiast PC building. However, Ecotech needs to do more when it comes to mounting. There is not enough standardization and the cost of the unit+mounting/hanging kits is just too much and really needs to be offered in better packages. Another issue is mounting the driver, which ideally could be offered in a inergraded fashion in newer renditions of the Radion.
-EcoLive software/web interface needs serious overhaul and testing. I've had numerous issues logging in and trying to change the times/patterns on the Radions manually. There MUST be a standalone offline interface as there may be times it is necessary to adjust the lights and be in a situation were web access is unavailable. Another option that should be available is USB OTG On-The-Go Cable Adapter support for plug-in-play adjustment with the use of a smartphone.
New to the hobby but these lights pretty amazing By Justin on 5/21/2014Justin would recommend this product to a friendSo many options and colors to choose from. A bunch of different intensity settings and presets make these lights very impressive.
I have nothing to really compare these lights to, but installation was fairly straightforward on my setup, and linking them to my Reeflink was a piece of cake. Here I have management of my entire lighting system right from my phone or computer. Definitely a must have.
Fantastic light...at a price By Alex on 5/19/2014Alex would recommend this product to a friendOrdered the Pro version to replace the cheap LED fixture I had on my secondary system. It is a night and day difference. The quality of the unit and the light emitted is world class. I have it connected wirelessly to my Apex controller using Fusion and it works flawlessly.
The flexibility is unmatched and the light spectrum keeps my high demand Magificas anemones happy.
Love this light, wish it cost less By Blaine on 5/16/2014Blaine would recommend this product to a friendI got this light about a week ago to replace to build my LED bars that I had across the top of my tank. They worked okay, but I find myself having an odd schedule working two jobs and I wanted something I could easily program without having to set up an APEX controller. The added ability to customize the spectrum and change it on a whim sold me on the product. My previous LEDs were set to one specific spectrum and it was either on or off. The dimmer went from 10% to 100% and hooking up a timer wouldn't allow it to ramp up. I bought one initially for my 140 gallon (60x24 wide x 30deep) penetration is great and I knew I'd probably have to pick up another to cover the whole tank. Couldn't be happier with my purchase.
Some people have griped about the hanging kits costing extra, and not having built in wireless capabilities without reeflink. While those are fairly valid points, you can create your own railing system for fairly cheap if you already have a canopy. If not, and the spouse will let you, hang them from the ceiling.
Adds new dimension to your reef By David on 5/13/2014David would recommend this product to a friendEveryone always comments about the way their reefs look and the pros and cons of the software and cost of the Radions, but there is one aspect of a lighting system like them that no one mentions. We are all striving to build an artificial eco-system as close to nature as possible but up until now the lighting has been pretty much an “Off and On” environment. Using the Radions and allowing them to gradually awaken your reef in the morning and gently put your reef to sleep at night allows you to observe behavior of your corals and fish unlike anything you have witnessed before. Watching all the unique activities that go on during those two twilight time periods makes purchasing the Radions worth the cost alone.
Amazing is all I have to say! By Tracy on 4/30/2014Tracy would recommend this product to a friendBest Radion yet! Amazing color and easy to use and setup. Use with Reeflink improves experience a ton
New features By djones on 4/30/2014djones would recommend this product to a friendOverall I am very pleased with this light. I recently have 2 Gen1 lights and was going to upgrade to Gen2s until this cane out. I currently have this light (Gen3 pro) and a Gen1 side by side on my tank. The light difference is pretty dramatic. The feature I like the most is the new buttons. Although the old touch buttons were kind of neat, I struggled to find them to put my pumps in feed mode. I was always touching the center button while trying to find the outside 2 buttons, putting the light in demo mode.

Hello, as you can probably tell I am a noob. would this light be sufficient on my tank? 72"L X 30" T X 22" D
Bulk Reef Supply Hi Roger,
You could certainly use the EcoTech Radion's to light your tank. For a tank that length you would want about 3 units as each will cover roughly a 2ft x 2ft area.

We are not able to hang lights from the ceiling. Is there a mounting kit or mounting rail available to use with the Radion lights?
Bulk Reef Supply At this moment in time the Radion's only offer a suspension kit (though you could hang that suspension kit from the wall using the Giesemann wall bracket linked below). That said though, they have announced a tank bracket kit that is expected to be released later this year.

What exactly does reeflink do?
Bulk Reef Supply Hi Billy,
The Reef Link connects your VorTech's and Radion's to the internet. This allows you to control and program them from any internet connected computer as well as iPhone and Android smart phones.

How many reeflink units are needed to control r radion gen3 pro units?
Bulk Reef Supply Hi Tahone,
Only one ReefLink is needed to control multiple Radions and Vortech pumps. Each light and pump can be assigned to a group or controlled individually in the case of multiple systems. We are currently running 10 Radions on 9 different tanks with a single ReefLink here at BRS!
Hope this helps!
Have a great day :)

Do you need an internet connection to set-up and control these lights or will a laptop and usb cable be sufficient?
I am planning an install where there is no internet access and was wondering if there is the same functionality with a usb cable connection as there would be doing it over the internet.
Bulk Reef Supply Hi Bill,
A laptop and USB cable is sufficient. For basic controls you can even use the buttons right on the light. You just wouldn't be able to use a ReefLink and do things like control via cell phone without an internet connection.
