Product Questions

What is the minimum flow rate for this pump?
Question by: Joel on Jan 26, 2016 2:08:00 PM
Great question!
The overall minimum flow is off however at setting 1 the flow will vary depending on the head pressure and other plumbing related elements in the system. Unfortunately an exact amount of flow is not able to be tested without a flow detector however it can be assumed to be around 500 GPH segments up from 0 with no restriction. Feel free to let us know if you have any further questions!

So, can I control the output of the pump with the controller it comes with or do i need to have a Apex Jr.?
Question by: John on Jan 16, 2016 10:49:00 PM
Great question!
The pump controller will have buttons to increase and decrease the speed. It can be connected to and Apex with a Variable voltage port (The Jr. does not have one and will need the VDM module)

Question by: victor tran on May 18, 2016 12:26:00 PM

How to maintain Waveline DC pump
Waveline DC pumps are designed and built in module-pattern. In most of the circumstance, the controller and AC/DC adapter can be easily replaced or re-organized. For example, a DC6000 controller and DC10000II AC/DC adapter and DC4000 pump body can run together. Nevertheless, DC4000 AC/DC adapter can not run the DC6000/DC10000II/DC12000 pumps.
We recommend the users should check and clean the pump in very 6 months or even in shorter period.
Muddy fresh water;
Salt water;
Hard Water, high K-Value water, high minerals water;
Warm water below 35 degree C or tropical climate water

The maintenance will be simple, unscrew the pump volute and check if any stocks
in pump impeller and volute. Use fresh water to clean all parts. Pull out the Shaft
to check if any mud, sands on the surface and clean the shaft house inside with
acid detergent, like Tunze Citric Acid. Use fresh water to wash out the whole pump

  • Works great By Mike on 9/5/2016

    I have had this running steady for about 3 months. It's dead quiet, and is working great. I see a lot of complaints, but I'd buy this pump again. Works as promised!

    Very good pump no problems
    Very quiet
  • Good pump By Mark on 1/26/2016

    Overall I would say its a good pump. It is quiet and the controllability via the Apex is great however I am a little dissapointed in the flow. I have a Dwyer flow meter so I know exactly how much it is pumping and with the pump in the cabinet below the tank it tops out at around 12 gpm. It's only a 75 gallon tank so that is fine but I was expecting more.
  • Not the best pump I've owned but not the worst By Happyjackson on 1/9/2016

    This pump had a squeal from day one. You know the high pitched whine that grate on your nerves. The tank sits in the family room so that not going work. I tried to email the manufacturer about my problem nothing but crickets... Look up the phone number, it just a fax line. A week later I get a very short email from sales saying, "Register your product and we can then help you". OK, I register the pump. I get the form letter from Daniel saying thanks for registering my product. I wait for… no response. I send emails, post to the “Contact Us” page on a really amateurish web site. I sent them a FAX, who does that anymore? I didn’t hear another peep. I finally ask Bulk Reef for help and they sent me a new one. With customer service like that what’s going to happen when I really need them. I took a loss on it sold it on Craigslist and bought an Ecotech Vectra M1. What a pump but that's another review.
  • Great and Quiet Pump. By Mark on 12/25/2015

    I bought this pump to replace my previous pump (it is a Sicce that is wonderful but I wanted to have a redundant pump since I have a basement sump and I want some redundancy available).
    It is incredibly quiet and I just swapped it out with the Sicce. The pump is whisper quiet and very powerful. I run it at about 1/2 speed over it overwhelms my filter sock. I have been playing with the Apex control ability, but right now it is just plugged into a power bar. I have learned that if the pump runs dry (I made an error in a program with my apex program) that the pump goes offline and the controller blinks. I put a defer statement on the pump outlet to make sure it restarts reliably. You can't go wrong with the pump and when I add another bigger tank, I will definitely use this pump again (or its big brother)
  • have 4 of these By George on 9/30/2015

  • Very well made bullet proof By Morse on 9/3/2015

    Have had one of these for almost 3 years. The original controller had a fan that died. I contacted the company and they sent me the new fanless controller for free! Have only taken out once to clean and was shocked how dirty but washed out clean and just runs and runs quiet. Can't say enough about these.
