Very pleased! By Michael on 11/5/13Michael would recommend this product to a friendOne thing I'd like to add (and it is recommended in the instructions for the product on this page--but I somehow glossed over it) is that the carbon seems to work MUCH more effectively with a reduced flow rate. I had mine in a canister filter going at about 120 GPH and thought it was doing fine, until I came across the information about it being more effective with slower flow rates. So, I lowered mine, and you know, within a day or two, my corals look so MUCH healthier and open, so yes, very delighted with the results. I didn't feel I had to rinse it out terribly long, but went though the motions just in case.
CLEAR By Daniel on 10/31/13Daniel would recommend this product to a friendI can't think of a more efficient way to clear a tank up. Easy to use. I rinse after it is installed by flowing the output into a bucket, that way I can get a bonus water change in when I change media.
Great Carbon By BBoyter on 7/18/13BBoyter would recommend this product to a friendBought the 5 gallon, now I don't have to buy anymore for a long time. It is dusty for the first few seconds but clears quickly and works great. 5 gallon bucket does have a seal in to keep it fresh.
carbon quaility By hunter on 6/25/13hunter would recommend this product to a friendI got this carbon and have been running it for 2 weeks now and it seems to be doing a great job.
did not notice to much waste as i rinsed it off either which a plus.
its carbon time By James on 6/16/13James would recommend this product to a friendClears the water and easy to use. As with all carbon it must be risned prior to use so that you get the dust off it
High quality for a great price By Ofc Pyatt on 3/28/13Ofc Pyatt would recommend this product to a friendI'd highly recommend this site and this product to other hobbyists!!
Good stuff By James on 2/28/13James would recommend this product to a friendCan't beat the price and quality.
Does need to be thoroughly rinsed out though.
Great product By Jay on 2/18/13Jay would recommend this product to a friendVery happy so far, little to no rinsing needed.
cant complain, By andrew on 2/17/13andrew would recommend this product to a friendit does what it is supposed to do, and it does it very well. does it cheaply too. I dont think you can find a better price anywhere, at least not for the same quality product. BRS has all round great prices and high quality product, thanks again
Priced Right By Thao on 1/26/13Thao would recommend this product to a friendYou can't beat the quality and price. I have used brand named carbon with the same results. Make sure you rinse very well.
Takes a few more minutes to rinse By Joseph on 1/7/13Joseph would recommend this product to a friendI've used this as well as the BRS Premium ROX 0.8.
They are both great products. However, in a canister filter I did not see sufficient difference between this and the ROX 0.8 to justify the price differential.
If cost is not an issue, then its a no-brainer: buy the ROX
very good media By 241wrasse on 12/22/12241wrasse would recommend this product to a friendGood media, good price buying the 1 gal container. Easy maintenance. Cleans easily: dump the old carbon & remove sponge, then simply dunk the cartridge once into water. I've found it's easiest to clean the sponge by flicking an edge of it with a finger, large particles just jump out/off the sponge - best done in a 5 gal bucket to avoid lignite getting scattered across the room!

|All of our carbons work well in the BRS reactor which is our suggested method of utilizing carbon in the aquarium.|
Bulk Reef Supply Activated Carbon will outperform competing brands for less. The primary function of carbon is to remove color pigments, pollutants, and medications from an aquarium. Each has a larger molecule structure and requires a carbon with a pore size large enough to effectively remove them. Our Activated Lignite Carbon contains a high number of large pores capable of removing these molecules.
We purchase our carbon directly from the manufacturer so we can offer the best carbon at reasonable prices. While most companies claim their carbon is the best, our statement is backed with true science and real numbers.
Bulk Reef Supply Activated Lignite Carbon comes in small or large particals. Large particles are easier to work with, while the small particles will be slightly more efficient.

***Special Note*** Lignite carbon contains more dust because it is softer. Be gentle when rinsing and do not tumble the material in a reactor which will create more fines. Carbon is most effective at slow flow rates. For a harder carbon with low dust please try BRS ROX 0.8 Carbon.
