For some reason my old RO/DI unit came with orange and red tubes on it, with orange being the exit waste water. It could get confusing at some points. I assume this is per foot... Correct? What diameter do I need to get for the 6 stage with chloramines unit? Also what colors do I need?

That is correct, it is the 1/4" tubing and it is sold by the foot. We use red for the feed water line, blue for the product water line and black for the waste water line. The units themselves come with 10ft each of those colors right with the unit. -

Can this be used to run RO from my basement to first floor? My idea is to run it to the area by my tank and figure some way to put a valve on the end to turn it off and on. Is there a limit on length that an RODI unit can "send" the water?

Shouldn't be a problem at all. This is the same type of tubing that we use on the RO/DI units. The length of tubing will offer some resistance, but for simply running standard RO unit output up a floor you shouldn't see any difference.
