Waste! By Brandon on 11/26/12
Brandon wouldn't recommend this product to a friendI have had this for less than a week and I am in a hotel for upwards of 7 months with a 16 gal reef set up...system was easy to set up, but even as I started using it the unit barely put out 5g in 8 hrs. Might be the water pressure, but since I have it hooked up to the sink I do not believe that is the issue and after not even getting 15g out of the unit it has slowed to about 5 drops every 30seconds. -
well it aint going good By DiveDr on 7/1/12
DiveDr wouldn't recommend this product to a friendI have had this unit for about a month. I have made approximately 25 gallons of reverse osmosis water. The quality of the water unit produces is relatively good. The secondary filter (chemical filter K2520 SS) is completely clogged. I live in New York City and our tap water is actually considered quite good. It is soft water, not particularly hard in any way. Although when the filters are not fouled the unit functions very well and produces 75 gallons of water per day as advertised in a short period of time I have experienced a decreased output to 1 gallon of water per day. If I need to replace filters every 25 gallons of water produced the total cost of ownership of this reverse osmosis system is actually extremely high. I have contacted customer service and hope they will assist in this regard and this is just a fluke. Absent a response my preliminary opinion is not very good with respect to overall performance of the unit. In good faith I could not recommend it to a friend. -
I love this unit By Aaron on 6/27/12
Aaron would recommend this product to a friendI love this unit! I mounted it in my laundry room and its completely out of the way. I tested my tap water at 200 ppm tds, after filtering i get readings of less than 5ppm. Can't go wrong here. -
Great for small water needs! By Reno on 6/20/12
Reno would recommend this product to a friendThis thing is awesome! It's exactly what I need! The only downfall to it is that you need a $3 faucet adapter. Instructions are somewhat vague but It's color coded making install a snap! -
Good at first, but slows down By JT on 6/15/12
JT wouldn't recommend this product to a friendI bought this unit 5 months ago. Very easy to set up! It was pumping out 5 gallons in 3 hours. Now it is taking over 6 hours to get 5 gallons. I have disconnected the flow restricter and let it run for a while to clean it out. That did not help. Maybe I need new filters, but it is only 5 months old and I have only been making less than 15 gallons a week since I bought it. -
Overall By DiveDr on 6/6/12
DiveDr wouldn't recommend this product to a friendI received the unit with the first stage reversed and had to correct this. The faucet adapters supplied with the unit do not fit the mostr common American Standard or Delta fixtures. A 15/16 conversion adapter is needed in order to use the unit. This item costs about $1.99 USD at your local hardware or plumbing supply provided it is in stock. I would think since this is a very common fitting size in the US the unit would ship with this adapter. The instructions supplied with the unit are sparse. As this is a portable unit one would think membrane storag instructions would be included, they are not. I have requested recommendations in this regard. The unit functions well, we have 60ppm Phosphate in our tap supply. The unit removed 100% of this as well as all the copper which is at about 0.25PPM off the tap. Overall a good unit for the price but attention to the fittings with which the unit ships and better documentation would be nice. -
Great Portable RO unit By Tyler on 4/25/12
Tyler would recommend this product to a friendthis RO unit is great if you have to take it with you somewhere. Small in size compared to standard RO units but does just as good of a job. I recommend adding a RO flush system to prolong the membrane. -
Great RO unit for a starter By Ryan on 3/29/12
Ryan would recommend this product to a friendThis unit was perfect for me when I was just starting out. while it didn't get me to 0TDS it did get me from 100+ coming in to near 5 so I'm pretty satified. -
