Ask a question
It does not, but the pump installs inline with your existing feed line so in most cases no extra tubing is necessary assuming your system is already plumbed from the water source to the RO/DI unit.
The pressure will depend on your incoming water parameters but 20psi would be pretty typical. No worries about going too far though, the pump itself has a pressure bypass on top that will allow you to turn it down if its too high.
We do recommend the booster pump to increase your pressure above 50 PSI. Feel free to let us know if you have any further questions!
The Quick connect fittings can be removed once installed. This is a matter of holding the mur lock gasket with one hand and pulling and twisting the tubing out like with a finger trap. I have included a link below to instructions on removing the tubing. Feel free to let us know if you have any further questions!
What maximum pressure can I use without worrying that something going to explode,
Thank you .
Where should I connect the booster pump, the first think Or after two canisters filter before marbrane?
The Booster pump kit is all you will need to have increased pressure. Your current ASO will work great!
With a set up such as yours we would recommend the Booster pump if possible to keep the pressure optimal for the membrane. DI resin will tend to deplete quickly in the first several gallons and slow down after that. Feel free to let us know if you have any further questions!
Currently only the 1/4" booster pump is available in kit form. We carry the 3/8" pump as a replacement pump for folks that already have a system, though you could buy a power supply and pressure switch to make your own 'kit".
The Aquatec 8800 Booster Pump Kit Includes and Features:
- Aquatec 8800 Booster Pump
- Aquatec transformer
- Aquatec PSW pressure switch
- ¼” push connect fittings
- Patented "flex-mount" base plate which significantly dampens vibrations and reduces noise
- Adjustable pump pressure
- Adjustable shut-off pressure point
Note: Aquatec 8800 Booster Pumps do require a minimum of 20 PSI to operate. Not having proper pressure feeding the booster pump will cause poor performance, and void the warranty.
Awesome By Jason on 1/14/2017Jason would recommend this product to a friendAllows your RO/DI system to run at the recommended PSI instead of whatever your water pressure is from the city. Shutdown switch works great. Setup and mounting the pump is simple.
Aquatec Booster Pump By Brandon L. on 1/7/2017Brandon L. would recommend this product to a friendI'm kicking myself for not purchasing this before. In all my years of reefing, this has got to be one of the best additions I have ever made. Was at 45psi before and at 95 now. Water was a trickle before and it's now a nice steady stream. My unit vibrates quite a bit. It's mounted on the wall and is audible in my daughters bedroom up above my garage. Minus one star for the vibration but this thing seriously kicks butt.
Worth every Penny! By keith on 12/9/2016keith would recommend this product to a friendI bought my RO/DI unit and I was only getting 35 psi. Once I bought this booster pump, it is now reading 90 psi. It works so much faster and much better than it use to. The TDS is at 6 now and the best I was getting before was 11. If you are getting less than 50 psi, I would highly recommend this!
Super Quiet, low vibration - really works! By Jerry on 12/6/2016Jerry would recommend this product to a friendLike others here, my water pressure was down around 40psi. At that pressure, the RO unit is very inefficient and you get mostly waste water. I'm super pleased with this booster pump. I agree with the other reviewers, Even if you have "ok" water pressure, this will boost it to the optimum level for the RO unit. You'll get much more filtered water and much less waste water. It will extend the life of some of your key filter components too. I also want to mention how quiet this pump is. This pump is barely audible. All you can hear is a soft low thrum. It's also low RPM, so it has very little vibration. The vibration it does have is low frequency, and the rubberized mounting pads easily absorb it. I can set this on a table top and it doesn't budge. The power supply consists of a white module, with a fairly long power cord on each side (one running to the pump, the other to your AC outlet). The pump comes with two rubber plugs sticking out of the input/output holes. You really have to pull really hard to get these out. A note to that effect would be good in the instructions. The video doesn't mention this either. In one scene they are there, and in the next they are magically gone.
Wish I had got this sooner! By Chris on 12/6/2016Chris would recommend this product to a friendAfter many years of using RO/DI units at typical residential house pressures I finally broke down and bought this...wish I had done it sooner!
Typical pressures at the unit would run from 30-40 PSI before...now consistently run at 90 PSI. The performance boost is amazing. Not only rate of creating product water...but rejection ration and rate at which DI resin is consumed.
Seems a bit pricey until you see what it can do...would never run my RO/DI without one now!
1/4" Aquatec 8800 Booster Pump Kit Does what it says. By Joseph on 10/2/2016Joseph would recommend this product to a friendBoosted my pressure from 40 psi to 90. Works Great!
Wow you need this... By franksreefs on 8/24/2016franksreefs would recommend this product to a friendI have a well with enough pressure for normal household things. I'd heard that a booster pump was necessary if you have a well. So when the RO unit and the pump arrived, I set it up WITHOUT the pump just to see what would happen. I purchased the glycerin-filled pressure gauge so I could see the pressure as it was operating. Pressure was 20-30psi and the unit was barely producing any water. So I hooked up the pump and wow what a difference! Very satisfied. You seriously need a booster pump with a well.
Booster pump By Chuck on 8/5/2016Chuck wouldn't recommend this product to a friendIf you are like me and on a well, this booster pump is a must. My RO/DI unit would not produce anything worth talking about, but after installing this booster pump, I am now producing about 7 gph.
They've said it, I'll say it again... By LogTech on 8/1/2016LogTech wouldn't recommend this product to a friendThis is totally worth it. Even if your water pressure is decent, this will make it better. Does what it says, and does it well.
If you hate saving money and like wasting water, don't get this. Otherwise, GET ONE.
Great product and service By Tomoko on 4/30/2016Tomoko would recommend this product to a friendI am very happy with the booster pump kit and the help I received from BRS. It worked as it is supposed to from the get go. It takes such a short time to make a lot of water. I can step up on water changes.
Tripled my water production By Jim on 4/19/2016Jim would recommend this product to a friendHave well water and couldn't get my rodi to work rite. Bought this booster pump and works great would highly recommend.
Better than expected By Dan on 4/16/2016Dan would recommend this product to a friendIt just works. Boosted my pressure from 40 psi to 90, which makes my RO unit generate the full 150 gpd. It turns on and off like it's supposed to with the RO turning on and off. Best of all, it's much quieter than I even hoped for. And since I have it mounted in a wall adjoining my bedroom, noise was a concern. As long as it's secure, I can barely hear it. (I do use additional vibration padding to get it as silent as possible but am very satisfied with the noise level.)
