Product Questions

Does the 8800 booster pump kit come with tubing?
Question by: Paul on Jan 17, 2014 12:08:00 PM
Hi Paul,
It does not, but the pump installs inline with your existing feed line so in most cases no extra tubing is necessary assuming your system is already plumbed from the water source to the RO/DI unit.

how much more pressure will i get , i dont want to get to much an blow things up .....i have 150 GPD working on 55 to 60 psi....... an i now i need 65 psi for this 150 GPD ro 5 stage ......
Question by: rocky on Feb 22, 2014 4:24:00 PM
Hi Rocky,
The pressure will depend on your incoming water parameters but 20psi would be pretty typical. No worries about going too far though, the pump itself has a pressure bypass on top that will allow you to turn it down if its too high.
Answer by: Bulk Reef Supply on Feb 22, 2014 4:24:00 PM
I have the BRS 4 stage value plus - 75GPD. My highest PSI is 40. Is getting this booster pump probably needed?
Question by: Kai on May 11, 2016 9:43:00 PM
Great question!
We do recommend the booster pump to increase your pressure above 50 PSI. Feel free to let us know if you have any further questions!

Can you pull a piece of tubing out of one of the fittings, or one you push it in, it's permanent ?
Question by: Steve Witte on Mar 21, 2016 10:16:00 AM
Great question!
The Quick connect fittings can be removed once installed. This is a matter of holding the mur lock gasket with one hand and pulling and twisting the tubing out like with a finger trap. I have included a link below to instructions on removing the tubing. Feel free to let us know if you have any further questions!

when adding this pump to my rodious unit will I need to change out all of my filters and the road membrane
Question by: Kyle Jones on Aug 25, 2016 8:47:00 PM
Great question! The addition of the booster pump will not cause you to change your filters. As long as your filters are not exhausted, you will be fine. :-)

95psi it's too high?
Question by: Edward on Feb 25, 2016 10:41:00 PM
Correct, Ideal PSI for our systems is between 50-65 PSI, Any amount under 90 psi can work as well. Feel free to let us know if you have any further questions!

I have an existing system with a pressure tank and standard ASO valve. Is this kit all I need, or do i need to replace the ASO with a solenoid?
Question by: Arbi on May 17, 2016 9:57:00 AM
Great question!
The Booster pump kit is all you will need to have increased pressure. Your current ASO will work great!
Answer by: Connor (Admin) on May 18, 2016 6:41:00 PM
Does it matter what end of the blue line you put in the pressure switch? Is the a directional flow like the booster pump itself. I don't see arrows.
Question by: Anthony Colao on May 6, 2016 8:07:00 PM
Great question! The pressure switch will work regardless of which side you put the blue product water line in.
Answer by: Carter (Admin) on May 9, 2016 2:43:00 PM
My home runs on a well and purchased a 6 stage ro/di plus. Thinking about getting the booster as my line has a ways to run before getting into the bucket. I believe it's fluctuating between 38psi (at its lowest point) and 55 (at its peak). Is this a good buy? I've only made about 10g and it's already used about 1/4 of a di chambers resin...
Question by: Brittney Leonard on Apr 8, 2016 9:37:00 PM
Great question!
With a set up such as yours we would recommend the Booster pump if possible to keep the pressure optimal for the membrane. DI resin will tend to deplete quickly in the first several gallons and slow down after that. Feel free to let us know if you have any further questions!

Is there a option for the 3/8 pump in the complete kit also? If so, same price?
Question by: Shaun on Jul 31, 2014 4:14:00 PM
Hi Shaun,
Currently only the 1/4" booster pump is available in kit form. We carry the 3/8" pump as a replacement pump for folks that already have a system, though you could buy a power supply and pressure switch to make your own 'kit".

  • Wow you need this... By franksreefs on 8/24/2016

I have a well with enough pressure for normal household things. I'd heard that a booster pump was necessary if you have a well. So when the RO unit and the pump arrived, I set it up WITHOUT the pump just to see what would happen. I purchased the glycerin-filled pressure gauge so I could see the pressure as it was operating. Pressure was 20-30psi and the unit was barely producing any water. So I hooked up the pump and wow what a difference! Very satisfied. You seriously need a booster pump with a well.
  • Booster pump By Chuck on 8/5/2016

If you are like me and on a well, this booster pump is a must. My RO/DI unit would not produce anything worth talking about, but after installing this booster pump, I am now producing about 7 gph.
  • They've said it, I'll say it again... By LogTech on 8/1/2016

This is totally worth it. Even if your water pressure is decent, this will make it better. Does what it says, and does it well.

If you hate saving money and like wasting water, don't get this. Otherwise, GET ONE.
  • Great product and service By Tomoko on 4/30/2016

I am very happy with the booster pump kit and the help I received from BRS. It worked as it is supposed to from the get go. It takes such a short time to make a lot of water. I can step up on water changes.
  • Tripled my water production By Jim on 4/19/2016

Have well water and couldn't get my rodi to work rite. Bought this booster pump and works great would highly recommend.
  • Better than expected By Dan on 4/16/2016

It just works. Boosted my pressure from 40 psi to 90, which makes my RO unit generate the full 150 gpd. It turns on and off like it's supposed to with the RO turning on and off. Best of all, it's much quieter than I even hoped for. And since I have it mounted in a wall adjoining my bedroom, noise was a concern. As long as it's secure, I can barely hear it. (I do use additional vibration padding to get it as silent as possible but am very satisfied with the noise level.)
  • Excellent Product By Paul on 3/21/2016

Easy install and improved performance of the overall filter output
  • Great addition By Brian C. on 3/21/2016

The Aquatec Booster pump was a great addition to my RODI environment. It has definitely helped improve the output of the unit. It is easy to install!
  • Greta Product By Lori on 3/15/2016

Increased water out put 2+ times. An investment. Worth it's weight. Another great product from BRS!
  • Best Addition By shawn on 3/14/2016

Experienced 35psi living in city. Added this booster and increased to 90psi when filter is working. Excellent product.
  • Save time and money By Chris on 3/8/2016

With this product, my 6 stage filtration system has increased production by twofold. If I understand correctly my waist should be reduced as a result of increased water pressure. Due to both factors, I definitely AM saving time and theoretically should save money as well. Thanks BRS for another great product!
  • Excellent Product By Steve on 2/22/2016

Simple to install, raised pressure from 40 to 80 psi, and doubled the production. I was surprised how quiet the pump was and had to put my hand on it to see if it was running. I also added the auto flush system so one less thing to remember.
