easy to use and install By david on 9/25/2014david would recommend this product to a friendWatched the video and it was installed. I have another brand ro filter. well, it has been rebuilt with parts from Bulk Reef Supply. This flush kit is much easier than my old method of flushing the membrane.
Great Product By Dave on 9/5/2014Dave would recommend this product to a friendEZ to install and makes all the difference in my H2O production. I'm back to seeing 1:2 ratio just like when I first hooked up my RO/DI unit.
Wish I had gotten it sooner! By Pegasus on 6/9/2014Pegasus would recommend this product to a friendI bought this flush kit, and my only regret is that I didn't do it sooner. I change out my sediment and charcoal cartridges when my pressure drops +/-15psi, but I neglected my RO membrane for a year. Once I had depleted FOUR DI cartridges, I decided I needed this kit before replacing the RO membrane. IF I had gotten the kit when I first installed my RO/DI unit, I probably could have gotten 2-3 years out of the membrane. Not now. One year, and it needs replacing. I procrastinated and now I have to pay for it by purchasing a new RO membrane. Don't make the same mistake I did. Look at the price of this kit compared to a new membrane, and you'll see there is no reason NOT to buy it. It can extend the life of the membrane 200%-300%, so it'll only take a very few months to pay for itself. If you don have one, WHY are you still reading this? GET ONE!!!

Is install the same for a BRS 5 stage with water saver upgrade?
Bulk Reef Supply Hey John,
It sure is! It still just installs at the flow restrictor on your unit, nothing changes and it will then flush both membranes.

How long would you suggest we flush before and after use?
Bulk Reef Supply Hi Julio,
Just 3-5 Minutes would be great!

Do I leave the faucet on while flushing the membrane?
Bulk Reef Supply Hi Casey,
If you mean your water supply that is feeding the membrane, yes you want to leave the water supply turned on while you are flushing the membrane.

A while ago I purchased the 150GPD RO Upgrade Kit, and the flush kit, but recently noticed that when the flush value us open, to flush the membrane, that I still have water going through the "clean" lines, a good bit. My guess is that I don't have it installed correctly. I assume the flush kit should be after the second membrane, is that correct? Or do I need a second flush kit? If this is correct, should I have that much water going through the clean line when the flush value is open?
Bulk Reef Supply Hey Chris,
As long as the flush kit is installed around the flow restrictor on the waste water line (which would be out of the second membrane) there isn't anything to worry about. If you have high enough water pressure its possible that you would still produce some product water during the process, but not as much as when your in normal operation.

If I buy an additional membrane (150gpd upgrade) do I also need to purchase one of these flush kits or does it come with the 150gpd kit?
Bulk Reef Supply Hi Christopher,
If your RODI system is currently equipped with a 75 GPD membrane, Flow 550 (75 GPD) flow restrictor and flush kit you will not need anything else besides the 150 GPD upgrade kit. http://www.bulkreefsupply.com/brs-150-gpd-water-saver-upgrade-kit.html
If you do not currently have the 75 GPD membrane or other parts installed you will need an additional 75 GPD membrane and 75 GPD flow restrictor. The flush kit is not 100% necessary to run your RODI system but we strongly recommend it to get the best performance and life from your membranes.
I hope this helps!
Have a great day :)

considering this for my ro system. it is a coralife pure flo 2. not sure if it will work. to backflush now, per the instructions, I switch the hoses for waste water and clean water. that switches the flow restrictors to flush membrane. will this kit work on my unit?
Bulk Reef Supply Hi David,
This kit should work just fine on your system and will be much easier to use! Just install the kit on your waste water line and insert your current flow restrictor into the section of tubing opposite the blue and white valve. If it is easier to get a new flow restrictor you can find them here. Just choose one to match your membrane rating.
I hope this helps!
Have a great day :)
RO Membrane flush kits increase the flow to the membrane by bypassing the flow restrictor. This helps flush deposits and increase the usable life of the RO membrane. BulkReefSupply.com recommends flushing the membrane before and after each use or every few weeks as part of regular reverse osmosis system maintenance.
