Best thing for multiple tanks By Steven on 5/1/13
Steven would recommend this product to a friendSo I must admit, I am a junky! Every time I turn around there is something new that I need. However, if you have multiple tanks then you really do need this for two reasons. 1. You do save water (being nice to our world) and 2. TIME. I hate having to wait on water before I can take care of a water change, etc. This allows for both. I never knew how valuable this was until a buddy of mine who is equally as much a junkie showed me how much faster his system was. I am a busy person and the time benefits have me sold. It is also the same construction as the existing system I have and just adding another membrane. I just wish the push connects were not as tricky when you get too many tubes in a small space. -
Great ! By Mark on 4/1/13
Mark would recommend this product to a friendI don't know why I waited so long to upgrade my RO unit. I am so glad that I finally ordered this add on unit. By using this one upgrade, I am no longer watching water and money go down the drain. I also forgot to mention that this cuts way down on the time to make RO/DI water, and time is also something that I never have enough of. Go ahead and make the right choice. Get one and see what I mean. -
Best bang for buck thing I have bought for my tank. By Justin on 4/1/13
Justin would recommend this product to a friendEasy to install and works as advertised, I can make 15 gallons in 2 hours. Previously it was 55-75mins for 5 gallons. Waste was about 1:3 and now its somewhere between 1:1 to 1:2
Great video instructions. -
Money & Time definitly on your side! By Brandin on 3/31/13
Brandin would recommend this product to a friendI was previously using the BRS 75 Gal/day unit and decided to add this upgrade to save some time making water for my 225 gal, 55gal, 20gal, and 10gal tanks as well as save some money on the water bill. It was well worth it! The unit now fills my 32gal drum in a couple hrs or less. It used to take me around 3hrs just to fill my 20gal bucket. The waste water produced was dramatically reduced too. BRS even made it super easy with a great how to video and was nice enough to include all the accessories needed and more! Thanks BRS! -
extremely easy to install. should come standard with future ro di kit from brs By chen yang on 3/30/13
chen yang would recommend this product to a friendthis kit isnt all that expensive. gives better rate, save time and money, waste less water. easy to install. i suggest future brs deluxe ro di should have 150 gpd instead of 75. but remember though your psi should be higher than 60 if u want to use this otherwise it will not be efficient. i bought the booster pump from bri just to use this membrane. i want more kits from brs. this kit should combine with the booster pump kit. combine two kits and lower the price a bit thats my suggestion -
Lowered my water bill a good deal By Anthony on 2/26/13
Anthony would recommend this product to a friendI make A ton of water for my system total system evaporates 5 gallons a day. That with my water change water was driving up my water bill. Added this to my 5 stage plus and my water output sky rocket and my waste water was cut in half also I noticed my di resin last a lot longer!!! Saves a ton of money!! Worth the small investment -
If recommend! By Toby Williams on 2/22/13
Toby Williams would recommend this product to a friendThis really cuts waste down and easy to install. Keep in mind this upgrade needs 60 psi to work efficiently. I had 67psi at the faucet, after running 1/4" supply line from spigot and up the wall through my attic and into the garage to the unit, I was only getting 51-55 psi at the membranes. It's about a 20' total run with waste line doing the same at about 25' out to the back of the house. It still works fantastic with a lot less waste, but it looks like ill be getting the booster, because my DI Resin is depleting fast at the 1st canister of the dual DI, also I think I'd get a better rejection rate and even less waste also with faster production. Bottom line. We all hate to buy things we don't need but be prepared if your doing your setup like me with similar spigot pressure. -
BRS 150 GPD Water Saver Upgrade Kit well worth the money By Kenneth on 2/16/13
Kenneth would recommend this product to a friendI have been running a 50GPD Coralife RO/DI unit for a few years now. The system was extremely slow to produce good water and quick on producing waste water. Based off information I found on BRS and other website sites I changed my setup. I first upgraded my membrane to 75GPD and replaced the flow restrictor on my system. This improved the good to waster water ratio. The next upgrade I did was to add the BRS 150 GPD Water Saver Upgrade Kit. The video on installing this kit made the upgrade simple. The install took less than 10 minutes and was extremely simple and have not had any problems with leaks. The key to the install is making sure you can the water tubing as close to straight as possible. It's nice that you get 5 Feet of Red, White, Blue and Black RO Line with the kit. The install of the kit has increased my output and has reduced the amount of waste water I produce. I have also now added a booster pump which has helped reduce the amount of time it takes to produce water and seems to have helped with the consumption of the DI resin. -
Fantastic Upgrade By Dan on 2/16/13
Dan would recommend this product to a friendWell I had been running a 75 gpd unit with a booster pump and was realatively happy, but I wanted to cut down on the waste water. Well I can say that it certainly does cut down on the waste water and boosts output dramatically. Prior to installation I was producing about 1 gallon of good water to 3 gallons of waste. After installation I'm producing 1 gallon of good water to 1.3 gallons of waste. I would say thats a dramatic reduction in waste water. Also I just fill my ATO bucket which holds 6 gallons of water. The unit produced 6 gallons in 59 minutes! That works out 146-147 gallons per day. The booster pump has keeps a constant 78 psi while producing. I would definetely recommend this upgrade. Thanks BRS! -
Works just fine By LOUIS on 2/15/13
LOUIS would recommend this product to a friendI added this based off the video on improving the ratio of good to bad water produced from using a 5 stage ro/di unit. I didn’t notice the difference until I added the booster pump after I realized that I wasn’t getting the 65 or more psi. After attaching the pump I had less water to dispose of. I wasn’t just letting the refused water go down the drain, I was storeing it in two 55 gallon barrels to water the lawn and garden with. -
Awesome way to increase output and save water. By Al on 1/29/13
Al would recommend this product to a friendI started with 1 upgrade kit, and liked the results so well that I purchased a 2nd and then a 3rd (total 4 RO's). So if anyone else wondered what would happen, let m explain. With 2 upgrade kits (total 3 RO's) and the booster pump, I was getting 3:1 rejection rate - for every 3 gallons of water in, I got 1 gallon of product water out. When I added the 3rd upgrade kit, not only did my pressure drop way down, but there was no further improvement in rejection rate. -
Super easy to install, boosted my system and saved time. By Jerry on 1/24/13
Jerry would recommend this product to a friendSuper easy to install, boosted my system and saved time. I cut my time to make RO water in less than half. Set up auto top off and makes things even easier. Good upgrade.

I have the 75 GPD RO/DI 5 Stage *PLUS* System and I want to add this to it. The pressure I see on the built in gauge on the RO/DI unit is around 60 psi. Will this work with what I have? I'm pretty sure the gauge is after the first membrane and I'm betting I have plenty of pressure at the start.
Bulk Reef Supply Hey Joseph,
The pressure gauge reads the pressure going into the membrane but in your situation you should be just fine :-) -
by Tomas on August 2, 2012, @4:11 PM
I have a Coral Life 50 gallons per day RODi. I wonder if this 75 GPD membrane would work for me?
Bulk Reef Supply Hey Tomas,
You could replace the existing membrane with a 75gpd membrane (you need to replace the flow restrictor as well). If you do that, then this kit would also work for you, but it wont work if you just add it on to your existing 35gpd. -
by Steve on February 23, 2013, @9:15 AM
How would I connect my flush kit to this dual membrane setup?
Bulk Reef Supply Hey Steve,
Great question. With the water saving upgrade kit you still only have a single flow restrictor (located on the waste water of the 2nd membrane) so your one flush kit will be on the 2nd membrane and will flush both. -
by Mike on January 25, 2013, @3:01 PM
What is the maximum psi this kit can handle?
Bulk Reef Supply Hey Mike,
Its best to keep the pressure on the RO/DI units under 80psi to ensure the longevity of the seals. -
by Maurice on August 3, 2012, @10:56 PM
I have a 35gpd, is there one for my type?
Bulk Reef Supply Hey Maurice,
Sorry but we do not carry 35gpd membranes at all so we do not have a kit for them. If you upgraded your existing membrane & flow restrictor to 75gpd you could use this kit.
The BRS 150 GPD Water Saver Upgrade Kit will also work with different brand 75 GPD reverse osmosis systems. The kit requires 65psi into the first membrane in order to function properly. If your home's water pressure is less then the recommended psi a booster pump will be necessary.
If you are purchasing a reverse osmosis unit from us at the same time as this 150 GPD Upgrade Kit please mention in your order comments if you would like us to install the unit for you. If you select this option, there may be a one day delay in shipping your order due to additional time considerations.
Kit includes:
- Dow 75 GPD membrane
- Two 2.5" x 2.5" membrane clips
- Two 1/8" x ¼" 90 degree elbows
- 1/8" x ¼" 90° check valve
- RO membrane housing
- ¼" tube splitter
- 5 Feet of Red, White, Blue and Black RO Line
