WISH I'D BOUGHT THIS WHEN I STARTED OUT By stuffman on 9/18/2014stuffman would recommend this product to a friendI am new to reefing, and so when I first filled my tank, I went with the LFS's recommendation of just using tap water and mixing salt. I soon learned the error of my ways when I got my brown algae outbreak.
I started researching and found out I should have used RODI or distilled water. I started using distilled while I researched, but realized that this was going to get expensive. So I ordered BRS's 4 stage value system, along with the separate TDS meter and flush valve (cheaper than integrated TDS system, and I can use TDS other places).
My tap water is in the 450 ppm range on TDS. Water coming out of the BRS system is 4ppm. I now know I'm giving my fish and coral clean water and will be cutting down on my algae problems (which have passed now). I'm anxious to see how long the filters last. I'm making about 10g/week.
5 stars and two thumbs up for BRS's 4-stage RODI system
Perfect entry level unit By Scott on 8/31/2014Scott would recommend this product to a friendWhy didn't I buy this sooner? Don't go buying jug after jug of distilled water or buckets from your LFS. This unit is perfect. Hooks right up to any sink or hose, easy instructions, and makes 0 tds water that I tested myself! BRS's reputation proved to be true on this (my first purchase). Highly recommended.
Way better than buying water By Amanda on 6/30/2014Amanda would recommend this product to a friendThis little system is great, although it does not "make" water very fast. I have a 150gal tank and I wish I had bought the larger size RO/DI system that Bulk Reef sells.
What More Could You Ask For By Devin on 6/21/2014Devin would recommend this product to a friendQuality and construction is solid. Went with the 4 stage cause I live in the sticks and don't have to worry about chloramines and things of that nature, just good old fashioned well water. One thing I will note which is no fault of the unit but I do go through about 1 cartridge of DI resin every 50 or so gallons produced.
rodi great By alfredo on 5/19/2014alfredo would recommend this product to a friendthis is a great rodi unit. water comes out sparkling clean. only wish i would have gotten a 6 stage because my city water is filthy.
Quality Product By emdrn05 on 5/19/2014emdrn05 would recommend this product to a friendThis unit came well packaged when shipped. I've only been using it about a month. It definitely is well made. The unit is sturdy and is of very good quality. It was super easy to hook up, no problems at all. I'm loving my RODI water!
Works great By Megan on 5/16/2014Megan would recommend this product to a friendThe unit itself works great, it was damaged in shipping though but BRS sent me a replacement part free of charge. Was a set back but now the unit is working to capacity once more!
Great! By Stephanie on 5/9/2014Stephanie would recommend this product to a friendExtremely easy to use, great product!
Great System, Great Price By Derek on 5/2/2014Derek would recommend this product to a friendI bought this basic RO/DI system but didn't realize I needed to know my water pressure, TDS, or having a flush kit. I feel all those should be necessary additions to a RO/DI system now so I will be buying those soon. Other than that it looks like a great product out of the packaging!
works great By 1shawn on 5/1/20141shawn would recommend this product to a friendWe decided to invest in an ro/di system because of the flouride that will be being added to our water. We emailed bulk reef with a few questions and watched some videos and done some research and found that this is the best product out there for us. We ordered it and it came fairly fast. We have used it and it works great. Thank you Bulk reef for your help and for having such great products.
AWESOME !!! By WIlliam on 4/25/2014WIlliam wouldn't recommend this product to a friendI got this and already I see a difference in my tank after a couple of days. The unit works great and I don't mind waiting a little bit for some water. Its better than paying for it at my LFS and works great time to get a ATO system for this
It Works By Jim on 4/19/2014Jim would recommend this product to a friendI bought the basic RO/DI system but realized I need to know my water pressure so I bought a pressure gauge and found that my pressure was alright. later I will get a flush kit. Both of these necessary additions. I have both fresh and salt water tanks and it is good to know I wont be introducing any unwanted contaminates to my tanks .Hooking up these is no more difficult than connecting a garden hose.

Does this system come with filter's? And does this system come with the check valve and automatic shut off?
Bulk Reef Supply Hi Jose,
The answer is yes on all of your questions, sure wouldn't work very well without them!

Is this water safe to drink directly as it comes out of this machine? or are further steps needed to be taken?
Bulk Reef Supply Hi Nate,
This particular system is an RO/DI system, rather then an RO system. Its not recommended to drink DI water. A better system for drinking water would be the 4 stage drinking water system, or if you want one for aquarium and drinking water use, the 5 stage drinking and reef system. Both divert the correct type of water for drinking purposes as well as have the necessary equipment. Keep in mind with any system though is that they are only to remove dissolved solids from already potable (safe) water. They can't be used to convert non-potable water to potable water.

Im interested in purchasing a BRS 4 Stage Value RODI System. The only issue I have is that I live in a condo and I would need this system to be a just make as I need kind of deal. Since I'm limited in space I would need to make a portable system. So can you tell me what I would need to buy to make it a plug into the sink and make water. Thank you.
Bulk Reef Supply Hi Faul,
The 4 stage Value systems would be what your looking for then. All of the equipment comes on a single bracket which makes it easy to move. The system also comes with two types of faucet connections which make for a quick connect to most laundry tub/utility sinks as well as most kitchen sinks.

I got the 4stage rodi 75 gpd value system, I ordered the flush kit and pressure gauge separately, How hard will it be to add these two components to the basic value rodi setup? Will I need to buy anything extra to hook it up?
Bulk Reef Supply Hey Michelle,
Its really easy to add both. You can likely have it done in 10 minutes or less :-) You shouldn't need anything extra to hook it up either :-)

I have this system and need replacement filters. Can you give me the part number or name of the ones I need?
Bulk Reef Supply Hey Josh,
If you have the 4 stage RO/DI system then you would want the 4 stage RO/DI replacement filter kit (sku 200104) which can be found right here:

I'm interesting in this unit and was wondering if I would have to make the 75 gal or could I make less, say like 50 gal. Thanks!
Bulk Reef Supply Hey Mike,
75gpd is what it would make if you ran it all day (assuming water parameters are to spec). If you only want to hook it up for 1 hour a week though that is just fine :-)

I had purchased this system already and would like to add a float valve to my reservoir to auto shut off the RO/DI system. In the instructions it states that some RO/DI systems might have the elbow check valve or the in-line check valve. Would this one I purchased have this already installed so all I have to purchase would be the float valvle?
Bulk Reef Supply Hi Michael,
If you have one of our RODI units from the last couple years the check valve (elbow type) and auto shut off are already installed. You just need to install a float valve and your ready to go.

I was wondering if it is possible to add a guage on to the brs 4 stage value rodi? thanks!
Bulk Reef Supply Hey Bill,
You can add a pressure gauge to almost any RO/DI unit. Here is the kit you would need and it only takes about a minute to install.
