Great Kit By Alex on 7/5/2014Alex would recommend this product to a friendI initially purchased this kit to dose kalkwasser, but in the end I used it to automatically extract skimmate from my vertex skimmer into a dedicated container controlled by a Neptune Systems Apex.
You get all the necessary parts to create a dosing container system then it's up to you to decide what you would rather use it for. Very versatile kit.
Great kit By Moni on 6/26/2014Moni would recommend this product to a friendThis was such a great kit I ordered a second one. The parts are first-rate, and the how-to video made building a system a snap!
Excellent combination of parts By JW on 5/27/2014JW would recommend this product to a friendWorks well as intended, but I must add that this is a great combo to make a number of great DIY projects.
DIY Kalk Drip By sfal1967 on 1/24/2014sfal1967 would recommend this product to a friendI purchased this product and received within three days, watched the video and put it together in no time at all. Very easy to use, my calcium level has maintained at 420 since I started my kalk drip. Very inexpensive from start to finish. Works just like the video. These guys are awesome!
Great By Joe on 1/12/2014Joe would recommend this product to a friendItem works exactly as described and unbelievably fast shipping! Thank you
Great Beginner DIY Kalk Dripper By Jared on 11/28/2013Jared would recommend this product to a friendI received this kit and the exact 2.5 Qt "OXO Good Grips Flip Lock Glass Canister" in the video above. Purchase here (http://goo.gl/eyDMc1) I also used the tapered bit in the video. Assembly took 15 minutes, and I was dosing in under 30 minutes. I say this is a good beginner method, because having the kalk in your ATO would be a lot less overall work. Since this review, I have switched to this method. The one tricky part about this kit is the flow valve. Most of the time it is either ON or OFF. You have to adjust it multiple times to get just the right drip. For my tank 1 drip every 5- 7 seconds was appropriate. It works well, and dosed the kalk perfect. On another note, I purchased 2 of these containers so I always have a backup kalk solution ready to drip. just swap the top, prime and go.
One word...AWESOME! By Gerard on 10/18/2013Gerard would recommend this product to a friendIt could not be any easier to set up your own DIY Kalk reactor. It took me five minutes and I was up and running.
Very easy By David on 8/18/2013David would recommend this product to a friendGreat product as usual with BRS. Bought a $3 jug at walmart and make the whole thing for less than $25. Love this place!!
Worked as stated By Michael Jay on 7/14/2013Michael Jay would recommend this product to a friendWas delivered faster than I expected and easy to put together after watching the video (in some ways, I would have preferred written instructions, if only because I had to sit with the kit, bottle and other tools at my little desk here to watch the video as I built the dripper--I'm not one for a retentive memory!) A representative of the company was very quick and very helpful in answering some questions I had regarding dosing my tank with kalk and that impressed me the most perhaps. A very good experience and will be ordering from Bulk Reef next time I need supplies or equipment.
Packaging could be improved a tad By Ken on 7/11/2013Ken would recommend this product to a friendThe product is great, no doubt, but the packaging caused the rigid tube to curve which can be a pain in the tookis to straighten out. Overall I am very pleased!
Finally, a super usefull kit of materials for a kalk dripper By Matt on 6/25/2013Matt would recommend this product to a friendSo glad BRS offers this, the components are top notch and makes it easy to make a dripper for kalk or any other chemical you were looking to dose slowly. In addition this kit could be used to make a dosing container to use for 2 part peristaltic dosers. use the bulkhead, straw and hose with a 1 gallon slim jug, or whatever your jug of choice is and bam!
Works agreat By Earl on 6/14/2013Earl would recommend this product to a friendI couldn't afford a calcium reactor so I bought the kit after watching the video on this DIY kit. I got a Rubbermaid 1.1 container from the store. Got my mixture mixed and it is now dripping into my sump. Easy to set drip time and it works great.

How does this work once you make it? Do you just add your daily measured out solution into the container and let it slowly drip the entire amount? I'm guessing it's just a way to add the solution slowly or can you make it slow enough to dose over a couple days, if so how do you figure out the amount it is letting into your system?
Bulk Reef Supply Hey James,
You got it. You mix up the solution you need to dose for the day, put it in the container and start it dripping. Over the coarse of the day it will drip into the tank. We actually have a YouTube video on using it, you can find it right here:

What advantage would the dropper have over dosing from the ATO? Where is the best position for this on the tank?
Bulk Reef Supply Hi there,
For most the dripper is not an advantage over putting it in your ATO. Its a solution for those who either don't have an ATO system or don't have one that is compatible with using kalk (like something that adds a lot of water to the tank at once).
You want to drip the solution into a high flow area of the tank, most folks use somewhere in the sump but really wherever it is convenient will do the trick.

Will this also work as a dosing container to be used with a Bubble Magnus dosing pump and air line tubing? Thanks.
Bulk Reef Supply Hi Jeff,
This is a fitting kit to create a mall dropped using your own container. You could certainly use some of
It's parts to create a dosing pump container as well, though a dosing pump doesn't require an air tight seal (in fact it must be vented) so you wouldn't need to make it nearly as complex. Just a simple dip tube and an opening for air to get in would be all you need.
Build your own kalkwasser dripper with the DIY Kalk Dripper Kit from Bulk Reef Supply. Just choose the storage container with lid that works best for you.
