You got it. You mix up the solution you need to dose for the day, put it in the container and start it dripping. Over the coarse of the day it will drip into the tank. We actually have a YouTube video on using it, you can find it right here:
For most the dripper is not an advantage over putting it in your ATO. Its a solution for those who either don't have an ATO system or don't have one that is compatible with using kalk (like something that adds a lot of water to the tank at once).
You want to drip the solution into a high flow area of the tank, most folks use somewhere in the sump but really wherever it is convenient will do the trick.
This kit will make a DIY version of the Tunze 5074. You can use a variety of bottles which work for your system. Feel free to let us know if you have any further questions!
Great question! The BRS DIY Kalkwasser Dripper Kit does come with (2) - 1/4” Mur-lok Push Connect Bulkhead Tank Adapters.
This is a fitting kit to create a mall dropped using your own container. You could certainly use some of
It's parts to create a dosing pump container as well, though a dosing pump doesn't require an air tight seal (in fact it must be vented) so you wouldn't need to make it nearly as complex. Just a simple dip tube and an opening for air to get in would be all you need.
Build your own kalkwasser dripper with the DIY Kalk Dripper Kit from Bulk Reef Supply. Just choose the storage container with lid that works best for you.

Crap By Jason on 11/17/2016Jason wouldn't recommend this product to a friendI built just as the video, with the oxo container. Blowing does not start the siphon and the ball valve can't adjust down enough to a drip per second, it's either flowing or stopped.
Honestly, I can't believe your pushing this setup with a video. I could see someone dumping too much kalk at once into a tank, there is zero control on this setup.
Works great. By AZReefjunkie on 8/28/2016AZReefjunkie would recommend this product to a friendI used this to improve my ATO container. Works exactly as intended.
all the parts in one package By awesome on 5/16/2016awesome would recommend this product to a friendGreat little DIY package. can be used to Drip Kalk, or can be hooked up to a dosing pump and used as a dosing container.
Pretty good product By Rich on 5/2/2016Rich would recommend this product to a friendGetting all these fittings from BRS is cheaper than going to a box store. They are quality fittings and for all those that say they don't come apart once put together, well, they are entirely wrong. They are kinda like Chinese handcuffs, you have to push in before pulling out. Maybe Ryan could do a quick video to show everyone how easy it really is. Then only complaint is the valve being difficult to get a slow drip-say around 1 or 2 drops per second. When you get it set properly you find hours later that it has to be adjusted again. But other than that there are no leaks or problems at all.
Save your money By Dave on 4/20/2016Dave wouldn't recommend this product to a friendThis product did not meet my expectations, nor did it work as promised. I'm going to toss this and get a dosing pump.
Just what I needed all in one package. By Josh V on 4/5/2016Josh V would recommend this product to a friendThis kit was just what I needed to convert a simple Tupperware container into an ATO top off reservoir. Worked great with the pump I got from these guys. Thanks BRS!
Good product By Jordan on 4/3/2016Jordan would recommend this product to a friendThis is a great device for drop acclimation or dosing calc. I would buy again
Video was valuable By s S56 on 3/1/2016s S56 would recommend this product to a friendThe instructional video made it very easy. One thing you do need to check is whatever container you choose make sire the lid is not very thick so its easy to drill or cut through. Walmart carries inexpensive gallon containers with thin screw on lids.
Working just like it was explained n Video By ReefNewbie on 2/19/2016ReefNewbie would recommend this product to a friendI followed each step exactly the way the video described - and nothing went wrong.
I bought two Class containers and made holes on top of one container's lid. Use the other one prepared to replace when the first one runs out.
One note: As I replace the container moving the "peeped" lid from the empty to the full - I need to blow on the shorter pipe after securing the lid. That obviously gets rid of the vacuum. No worries at all... as the water starts flowing (adjusting the valve) - I just open the lid again and reseat it. Like a charm it works... :-)
SIPHON DON'T WORK By CXK03fishtanks on 2/11/2016CXK03fishtanks wouldn't recommend this product to a friendThis is hands down the worst thing I have ever purchased. Put it together the first time, because the pieces never come off
Easy DIY By Dave on 1/21/2016Dave would recommend this product to a friendLove it, great budget alternative to a commercial product. Just be sure you are paying attention when you push the tubes into the fittings, once they are in they are in.
Complete kit and easy By Eric on 1/18/2016Eric would recommend this product to a friendEverything I needed and cheaper than I could put it together separately. Video helped explain how to drill and install. Easy and effective!
