I bought this pump to build my own DIY mixing station. Attached a hose via a PVC attachment and I ran it all the way upstairs to fill my tank. Runs quiet and only warm to the touch

I'm using this pump for my saltwater mixing station, and when it's running, I cannot hear it at all! Very quiet,and very powerful. I would definitely use one on my main display tank!

I am using the panworld 40 (480gph) on a planted aquarium, it runs a inline heater, co2 reactor (4inch pvc pipe about 3 Ft long and filled with bio media), a DIY fluidized bed filter and pumps back up to my tank at just over 5 ft. I may not be exact but by my measurements it still gives out over 400 Gph

I also notice that its quiet compared to other external pumps (as long as its not touching anything).

The 40 is the biggest size that doesn’t have a cooling fan, although the fans are noticeably loud, they seem to keep it running cool. I’m not sure if it’s because of the pressure of all my equipment its running or the lack of a cooling fan but my pump runs hot almost too hot to touch!

I have had two of these for 4 years now. I run one as my main pump on a small system, switching out with the other about once a year. I have only had two problems in 4 yrs. Once a rubber band somehow made its way to the impeller and stopped it up. My fault. The only other time it was due calcium buildup. I think I had not touched it for a year and a half, again my fault. I should have cleaned it at least once a year. They are easy to clean. I take it apart and drop the plastic parts it into 50% muriatic acid (pool acid) for about 15 minutes, rinse it off, screw it back together and It is good as new.

ATTENTION: Maintain the life of your pump.

99% of all pump failures and broken impellers are caused by foreign objects (snails, sand, gravel, hermit crabs, etc.) entering the pump housing. Pumps damaged by foreign objects are NOT covered under any warranty and are expensive to fix or replace. To prevent damage to your pump, we suggest using a bulkhead strainer on the intake bulkhead to reduce the possibility of a foreign object entering the pump. A variety of strainers from 1/2” to 2” are available at BulkReefSupply.com.
