Quick Overview

Recommend for use on a reverse osmosis system with a drinking water system attached. Air gap faucets will prevent sink drain water from entering the system via the waste water line. This is particularly important if your home experiences a sewage back up.

Product Questions

will the noise from the air gap become quieter after a while or will it just stay loud, if it will stay loud anyone recommend one that won't have this problem. or can i just connect the waste water line directly to the drain?
Question by: Marcial on Nov 3, 2013 6:04:00 PM
Hi Marcial,
The sound is present for all air gap faucets and basically is a side effect how they work that you can't really get around. While physically possible to bypass the faucet by disconnecting the two waste water lines and connecting them with a 3/8" to 1/4" union that isn't really advisable as you would be bypassing all the safety features that you have the air gap faucet for.

  • Feels very rugged! By Benjamin on 12/4/2016

Got it installed today and this faucet feels very rugged and well built. Yes, there is some noise, it's a small price to pay for safety. While servicing my RO unit drain line with the non air gap faucet, I actually found gunk in the line! So that's why I purchased this from BRS.
  • Silent Air Gap! By Rod on 11/21/2016

This thing is completely silent! What a huge improvement over the old model. I had no idea. My wife now thinks I'm some sort of plumbing god! Thanks BRS, you guys rock!
  • Great product! By a9reef on 12/24/2014

Great product! It is a little noisy but gets the job done! I find the overall product finish/quality better on the Nickel one than the Chrome one.
  • Air Gap too noisy By Brian on 1/25/2013

I would not recommend getting this option. The air gap faucet noise is very loud and can be heard very loudly. It would be one this if it only did it while you were getting RO water then stops but it keeps doing it until the tank is full and the whole time while you are filling DI water.
