Great products for the reef By Shannon on 12/17/2014Shannon would recommend this product to a friendAlways great quality in a quantity that's priced right - I'm a long time customer and this works great for my two-part regime.
Great Product that WORKS. By Idol on 12/11/2014Idol would recommend this product to a friendThis Magnesium supplement functions exactly as stated. Savings in cash is also very important and that is what this also does very well.
Better than the other brands By Sjohnson on 11/30/2014Sjohnson would recommend this product to a friendI have used other brands in the past and wont go back. This stuff is ground smaller than other brands so it dissolves very quickly and easily. This stuff is super clean too. The old stuff I used always left the bottom of my container cloudy and there was always some brown residue as well. This stuff is perfectly clear when dissolved and no residue is left behind.

Very good product, cost effect By matthew on 1/12/2013matthew would recommend this product to a friendI've been using this product for a couple years with good results. Instructions are easy and the BRS reef calculator makes dosing this product so easy. Using the BRS calculator and Bubble Magus doser with this product is basically a "set it and forget it" type of deal, and I test magnesium a couple times per week to double check this. This product is so much cheaper than other bottled liquid magnesium products if you don't mind mixing the solution up yourself (which is very easy).
Good Product By David on 11/27/2012David would recommend this product to a friendBest price I found online, Thanks BRS.
I started dosing my tank and it had 1100ppm Magnesium.
Now it's up I got it up to 1400 ppm now.
Just make sure to order both mix solutions.

What is the difference between Mag Sulfate and Chloride? Do i need to add both to tank? I use a two part Alk/Cal system now with the mechanical dosing system. I was thinking of adding an additional dosing pump for the Mag solution. RECOMMENDATIONS??
Bulk Reef Supply Hey John,
Most folks use a combination of magnesium chloride and magnesium sulfate when adding the magnesium to the aquarium. With a two part system its generally a ratio of 5 cups of magnesium chloride to 3 cups of magnesium sulfate in 1g of water. This is to help keep the ratio of chloride and sulfate ions as close to what they are in natural seawater as possible.
There certainly is no reason you can't use a dosing pump for your magnesium. Most folks just do it by hand though as it usually only needs to be dosed once a week or commonly as little as once a month.
- Test current magnesium level
- Use our Reef Calculator
- Input required information to get dose
