The Best The Best The Best By BigEZ on 7/22/2013BigEZ would recommend this product to a friendGreat product, it's not horribly expensive and it dissolved way quicker than I was expecting. Using the calculator on the site made it super simple to adjust my calcium levels.
Works well By Chris on 7/19/2013Chris would recommend this product to a friendI received this yesterday and followed the very clear mixing instructions on the package although I reduced it to just 1 cup of water and modified the CaCl to match. Before I used it I tested with a Salifert kit and my Ca was reading 400. Afterwards I tested again and it was reading 450. It's exactly the amount I had mixed for.
What a great product.

I need some clarification on which option to choose when using the bulk reef supply calculator for calcium. On both the container that I have and also the directions posted on your website, it says that I should be choosing recipe 1 calcium solution in order to get the correct dosage. When I go to use the calculator the drop down menu displays three options: 2 part calcium solution, dry calcium chloride crystals, and alternative 2 part calcium solution for lower pH. Which one is the correct option for use of this product???
Bulk Reef Supply Hi Alex,
Have you mixed the calcium up into a solution per the instructions on the bottle? If so, you would use the "recipe 1 calcium solution" option. If you have not mixed the calcium into a solution then you would select the option for dry calcium chloride crystals.

The suggested dosage for a fully saturated stock solution seems to 2.5 cups CaCl/gallon of RO/DI water, but what is the ppm of said solution once mixed?
Bulk Reef Supply Hi Scott,
The resulting solution comes out at about 37,000ppm.
