Simply the best By Bert on 6/29/2014Bert would recommend this product to a friendAlmost no dust. It's simply the best carbon I've ever used. You definitely get what you pay for.
Works great! By Christopher Kirkland on 6/25/2014Christopher Kirkland would recommend this product to a friendI love this carbon, the only carbon that is small and works well in the reefing hobby. Has no phosphate, is a bit dusty so a good rinse with RODI is always a good idea.
Crystal Clear By Michael on 6/17/2014Michael would recommend this product to a friendBeen using this Carbon Since XMAS 2013 and let me tell you how clear my water stays. Barely any dust particles and rinses out in seconds!
awesome carbon By Mario on 6/9/2014Mario would recommend this product to a friendI use this carbon in my reactor. I had a yellow tint to my water and know my water is crystal clear. I couldn't see switching to another brand. Use the BRS calculator and it takes out the guess work on figuring out how much to use.
Quick Results By Theoden on 6/2/2014Theoden would recommend this product to a friendMy new cycling aquarium had developed an odor. After 24 hrs use of this carbon the smell vanished. Never had such a quick acting carbon. I will say it is a little difficult to deal with due to it's size, but it's nothing that should deter one from buying this product as it is top notch.
Best stuff ever By Tim on 5/29/2014Tim would recommend this product to a friendI have just started using this carbon and couldn't be happier. There is very very little dust and results are great. My water looked clear before a started using it. Now it is truly clear, don't fool yourself by thinking your water is clear. Use this carbon and be truly happy, I'll never use anything else. Thanks BRS
Want Clear Water? By Vincent on 5/25/2014Vincent would recommend this product to a friendBought this with my dual canister and it cleared up my water very nicely. If your experiencing cloudy water and can't figure it out try this carbon out.
Awesome By Aron on 5/19/2014Aron would recommend this product to a friendThis stuff is great. It helps clean up my water after a water change - especially when the salt that I use makes the water a little more cloudier than I'd like it to be. With LEDs I think you can see more of the cloud in the water - especially the really fine particles you can't see with T5... This with the BRS reactor will easily clear all that up in 24 hours.
Good carbon product By Christopher on 5/11/2014Christopher would recommend this product to a friendI run this in my BRS reactor and love it! The only downside of this carbon is the shape it has makes it get wedged in the filter pads and is difficult to get out, a pretty minor issue that I dont feel has any real impact on performance.
best carbon By Raul on 5/2/2014Raul would recommend this product to a friendThis carbon there is. keeps my water looking crystal clear!!!
Awesome!! By Benjamin on 4/9/2014Benjamin would recommend this product to a friendI recently switched from the lignite to this stuff, and the difference is huge! Definitely worth the extra cash.

How much carbon should I use? What's the carbon to gallon ratio for this carbon? Planning on putting it my my BRS dual reactor. Thanks!!
Bulk Reef Supply Hey Robert,
With the ROX carbon it comes out to 1 tablespoon per 10g of water. Or if you want to do the math the easy way, use the reef calculator found at this link:

What kind of carbon is recommended to run in a reactor
Bulk Reef Supply Hey Rick,
It really depends on the reactor. The ROX carbon is the best carbon we sell, but because of its small particle size its well suited to reactors whose sponges have large holes in them. For those types of reactors the lignite carbon will be the best bet as its still performs better then most carbons while being a larger particle size.

How long will the media brs GFO high capacity & Premium POX 0.8 carbon be changed?
Bulk Reef Supply Its best to change carbon every two weeks. GFO on the other hand will vary depending on the amount of phosphates in the water. No need to change it until its depleted. Typically this is 4-6 weeks assuming normal dosages and normal phosphate levels but the best thing to do is monitor your phosphates for an increase, and change the GFO when the phosphates begin to rise.

Which reactor do you recommend for the ROX 0.8 carbon? Do you have one that will compress it and keep it between filter pads where it can't escape to the tank?
Bulk Reef Supply Hey David,
The standard BRS reactor I think is the best for the ROX carbon. Its filter pads are fine enough that the carbon stays inside of them. There are a lot of great reactors out there, but with most of the other ones you will need to custom cut some filter floss material to keep the carbon from going through the sponges as its quite small.
ROX 0.8 is a specialty carbon extruded into tiny, extremely hard pellets resulting in less dust and reducing the amount of fines released into the water. It features high numbers of large and small pores giving it all the advantages of both lignite and bituminous carbons. ROX 0.8 will make your water crystal clear faster with less material.
BRS purchases our carbon directly from the manufacturer so we can offer the best carbon at reasonable prices. While most companies claim their carbon is the best, our statement is backed with true science and real numbers. Carbon is not created equal. Different sizes, shapes, and materials will perform with drastically varying results.
